Throughout history, an evolution of environmental deterioration has been found raises the evolution of

environmental deterioration throughout history due to factors such as urbanization, the use of chemicals
in agriculture, deforestation and climate change. The thesis aims to analyze in detail these factors and
their impacts on the environment, society and human health. Issues such as transport, energy
management, fashion, deforestation and climate change will be addressed, examining their
consequences and socioeconomic effects. The research seeks to highlight the importance of taking
responsible and sustainable measures to address environmental problems and offer evidence-based
recommendations for a more equitable and environmentally friendly future.

Energy is essential for our daily activities, and we use it at all times. However, currently the energy
supply sector, which includes electricity and heating, is the largest contributor to global greenhouse gas
emissions, accounting for approximately 35% of the total. Buildings, both residential and commercial,
consume more than half of the world's electricity. What causes a great climate change.

Transportation is essential in modern life for daily activities, but its dependence on individual vehicles
with fossil fuels has serious environmental and social implications, such as congestion, air pollution and
greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions from this sector have increased significantly, contributing to
climate change, and represent a large part of total energy-related CO2 emissions. It is urgent to address
these problems to promote more sustainable mobility and reduce the environmental impact of
transport.

Water is important for the survival and quality of life of humanity and the planet. Despite its apparent
abundance, less than 3% of the world's water is drinkable, and much of it is frozen in polar regions.
Despite the fact that water is important for our lives, people constantly pollute water and waste it.

Food waste is a problem that goes beyond mere inconvenience, since it contributes significantly to
environmental deterioration worldwide. Currently, about a third of the food produced in the world is
wasted, which is equivalent to about 1.3 billion tons of food that is ruined in agriculture, lost during
distribution or discarded in supermarkets, restaurants and homes. This represents an enormous waste
of resources such as land, water and energy, as well as unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions. Food
production and transport also generate greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change,
and when food breaks down in landfills, they release methane, a much more powerful gas in terms of
global warming than carbon dioxide.

The fashion industry, with its rapid cycle of trends and consumerism, is causing a great environmental
impact. Excess production and consumption of clothing contributes significantly to environmental
deterioration. This industry is responsible for 8% of greenhouse gas emissions and 20% of global
wastewater per year. The production of clothing, especially made of unsustainable materials such as
conventional cotton, has serious consequences for ecosystems. In addition, water pollution and the
release of plastic microfibers during laundry are important problems. The culture of fast and disposable
fashion also leads to the massive waste of resources and energy.

Solid waste has a significant environmental impact, with 11.2 billion tons collected annually and the
decomposition of organic waste contributing to 5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Inadequate
waste management damages biodiversity, pollutes natural habitats and negatively affects the quality of
life in local communities. The adoption of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) is essential to build a
sustainable future and reduce the ecological footprint.
