ACTIVITY 1

1. Research common injuries and conditions that can occur during water-related activities, such as minor
cuts, scrapes, burns, and sprains.

During water-related activities, individuals may encounter various injuries and conditions. Minor cuts
and scrapes are common due to contact with sharp objects or rough surfaces in water bodies. Burns can
occur from exposure to hot surfaces or chemicals present in some water sources. Sprains, often caused
by slips or falls, can lead to ligament damage in joints. Drowning and near-drowning incidents are critical
concerns, necessitating proper supervision and water safety measures. Additionally, ear infections, often
termed "swimmer's ear," can result from prolonged exposure to water, causing irritation and infection
in the ear canal. It's crucial for individuals engaging in water-related activities to remain vigilant, follow
safety guidelines, and seek prompt medical attention for any injuries or symptoms.

2. Create a list of essential first aid supplies needed to address these injuries, including bandages,
antiseptic wipes, gauze pads, medical tape, gloves, and pain relief medication.

To effectively address a range of injuries, it's essential to have a well-stocked first aid kit. Include various
sizes of adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipes or solution for cleaning wounds, sterile gauze pads to cover
and protect injuries, medical tape for securing bandages, disposable gloves to maintain cleanliness
during treatments, and a selection of pain relief medication such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to
manage pain and discomfort. These supplies cover the basics for treating cuts, scrapes, burns, and mild
pain, ensuring you're prepared for minor injuries.
