Introduction to the second line of inquiryHow past civilizations help us to
understand the present The key and related concepts will also be
explored. The students will be asked to think about some
discoveries or inventions from the past that shaped our world.

Inventions and discoveries in past civilizations will be discussed.
The students will brainstorm and create mind maps of inventions
and discoveries that they are aware of and connect them to the
present and its implications. What would our world be like
without these inventions?
Images of different key inventions will be displayed around the
class and the students will conduct a ‘gallery walk’.
Once it is completed, visible thinking routines ‘headlines’
‘connect extend challenge’ and ‘think pair share’ will be done.
Students will be given a choice of these routines and then grouped
accordingly.
Tablets can be used for this purpose
