What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is an infectious
disease caused by a new
coronavirus called SARS CoV2.

Where did Covid-19 begin?


Covid-19 began in Wuhan, China where the virus started spreading among the people.

How has COVID-19 affected sports?


Covid-19 has affected us from playing many sports and has stopped some sport events
around the world from taking place. Covid-19 had changed the working patterns of many
athletes like they couldn’t play matches. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, gyms,
stadiums, pools, dance and fitness studios, physiotherapy centres, parks and playground
have all been closed. These places help us do some sporting activities but while they are
closed no sporting activities take place. Infact the Olympics that was supported to take place
4 years after 2016(that is 2020) didn’t take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The
Olympics was postponed to July 23rd, 2021.
How has Covid-19 affected an athlete’s career?
Athletes around the world have not been able to play matches and can’t practice the sport
they are specialized. Due to Covid-19, It has reduced their earnings, since many athletes
work outside for their career, staying in home for months is kind of claustrophobic and
stressful for them.
