The Government of Romania

The government is the central authority of the executive branch. It works on the basis of the vote of
confidence granted by the Parliament and ensures the realization of both the domestic and foreign policy
of the country. he sees to it that the laws are enforced. We can consider that the importance of the
Government derives from the fact that it effectively organizes and leads the society.

 The structure of the Government and the nomination of the candidate for the position of
Prime Minister

The Government consists of the Prime Minister, Ministers and other members established by the
Law on the Organization and Functioning of the Government. Through the investiture procedure, the
president appoints a candidate for the position of prime minister. In order to appoint him, he consults with
the party that has the majority in Parliament. The candidate must complete the two elements that will be
presented to the Parliament within 10 days: the team and the governing program. Parliament's vote of
confidence is then required, which will be given to the entire governing program and the entire team. He
has 60 days to vote for the future Government, during which time he can only reject two requests. After
the vote has been taken, the President appoints the Government by decree and the oath of allegiance is
taken.
