PERFORMANCE TASK 10

Look for the logos of the Philippine Association for Teacher Education, the Department of Education and
Commission on Higher Education. Is there anything common among the logos? Enumerate their
commonalities and explain why they included this in their logos.

The most obvious commonality that these three logos have is the torch. The reason for
that I think is what the torch symbolizes in the field of education. A torch illuminates a dark
cave, it eminates light in its radius. Just like how education aims to enlighten the minds of the
people. Education is the torch or the light that shines in this world to make people see or
know better. Although the CHED logo doesn’t have a torch, it has a sun. Though obvious for the
reason that it is the one on our national flag, the sun also acts as a primary source of light.
The next one is the book. I think it’s rethorical why they would include a book in their
logo. Books are a primary source of knowledge. Just like how education is basically the primary
way in which people gain knowledge.
The philippine map. It is very apparent why they would include the philippine map on
their logos. Simply because these are government agencies located in the Philippines. Aside
from that evident reason, It is also because the Philippines is the target population in education.
Lastly, I noticed the prominent use of the color blue on the three logos. I am not quite
sure why this is, this might just be a coincidence or not. But I saw an article recently that says
the color blue is mostly associated in learning. Blue paper, blue ink and blue highlighters. It is
said that the blue color enhances learning and improves memorization.
