Existing Public Transport Routes

Intra-city routes

For existing intra-city routes, data from the LTFRB-Caraga as of September

2022 shows that there are 19 PUJ routes with 758 authorized units. However,
based on the PT surveys conducted by the LTFRB and the LGU, of the 19 routes,
only 10 remain operational, with 449 operating units. Three (3) of the
operational routes, namely, Kinamlutan to Dagohoy, Lumbocan to Langihan, and
Taligaman to Robinson’s Terminal, have low NOU and have long waiting times.
Nine (9) existing routes are no longer operational. These are either abandoned,
or had no takers since these were opened for application by the LTFRB.

Rationalized Routes
Under the LPTRP 2022-2025, there are seven (7) rationalized PUJ routes for
Butuan City, with a total fleet size of 465 units.

Compared to the existing scenario, this represents a 63.16% decrease in terms

of number of routes, and a 38.65% decrease in terms of number of units.

However, when compared to the existing operational units (449), the

rationalized FS under the LPTRP (465) actually represents a 3.56% increase in
terms of number of units.
