The document summarizes the effects of forest fires in the Amazon. It discusses how over 700 square miles of the Amazon have been destroyed due to deforestation and 76,000 fires. If emissions pass 2 billion tonnes, the Amazon could become a net source of carbon. Climate change may cause the forest to dry out and allow fires to spread more quickly. Changes to forest management in the 2000s initially reduced deforestation but activity has increased under Brazil's current president, blamed for some fires. The fires impact politics, animals, and plants in the forest ecosystem.

Amazon fires have destroyed all environment in its way. It has also effected politics and animals in a way that is unimaginable. The Amazon has lost 700 square miles due to deforestation. There has been a total of 76,000 fires burnt in the forest. All the fires in the Amazon could make it a net source of carbon. If later the fires and emissions pass 2 billion tonnes the Amazon will be a net carbon source. The Amazon is lucky because it is so wet and fires will not spread as fast. But if climate change increases it will become dryer and fires will spread quickly. The Brazilian government changed management of the forest land, it was changed in the 2000’s. In 2012 deforestation was 80% lower than 1995 to 2006. Brazil’s President Bolsonaro was elected and said he would increase agricultural activity. He is blamed for some fires because more activity would make more man- made fires. France’s leader was frustrated with Bolsonaro and Biden even offered 20 billion dollars as a world effort. Biden also threatened economic consequences in fires continued. Animals in the Amazon are not used to fires in their evolutionary backdrop. Some animals could be more used to the fires mentally, but many animals have the chance of losing their homes. Trees also can not survive because they need the animals to spread their seeds. Plants get overly exposed to light because of the fires and plants are food sources for some animals. When shade gets destroyed it causes more stress for animals. If one animal dies it could cause problems for all animals in the forest.
