located. It must accommodate extremely diverse functions, including housing, recreation,
administration, training, community education, equipment and vehicle storage, equipment and
vehicle maintenance, and hazardous materials storage. While it is usually only occupied by
trained personnel, the facility may also need to accommodate the general public for community
education or outreach programs. (Mion, 2017) https://www.wbdg.org/building-

Design Challenge

Cagayan de Oro City is a developing city and the Gateway of Mindanao. With its new
developments, new buildings and more people coming to urban centers, fire incidents are always
lurking behind. In 2020 alone, the reported fire incident in CDO is 305 with total estimated
damages of Php 66,912,500.00 (BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION – R10 CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY
FIRE DISTRICT, file:///C:/Users/acer/Downloads/FIRE%20INCIDENTS%202020-converted.pdf)

As a designer, you are task to redevelop the existing Fire Station 1 with additional space from its
