NCM 112 (Cell Aberration)

Activity 1
Czarina Joy Ramirez
3-E

Our body constantly

produces new cells. Normal cells
and cancerous cells divide.
Normal cell division is
strictly controlled and it follows a
typical cycle: grow, divide, and
die. If cellular damage occurs, the
cell will either repair itself or
undergo apoptosis to correct the
abnormality. If the number of cells
in the body maintained, the
physiologic function is also
maintained.
Cancer cells, on the other
hand, do not follow the cycle.
Cancer cells lack cellular
regulation, and damaged cells
avoid both cellular repair and
apoptosis, leading to uncontrolled
cellular division and cancer
development. Furthermore, the
abnormal cells can invade other
body parts such as the breast,
lungs, liver, brain, and so on.
When they infiltrate those specific
organs, they travel through the
blood and lymphatic systems and
spread to other parts of the body.
