EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 15

CREATION OF BARANGAY PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

(BPFSDC)

WHEREAS, Article XIV, Section 19 of the Constitution provides that the state shall promote
physical education, sports program, league competition and amateur sports including
training for international competition to foster self-discipline, team work and excellence for
the development of healthy and alert citizenry;

WHEREAS, RA 6847 created the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) under the Order of the
President to carry out this mandate in coordination with the various government
departments and agencies, and private entities;

NOW THEREFORE, I NADOR M. PINTO , Punong Barangay of Brgy. KASUGA, City of

Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby create a
Barangay Fitness and Sports Development Council which shall be composed of the following:

SECTION II. FUNCTIONS

1. Meet at least once a month, plan and formulate a blueprint for the short, medium
and long term for the sectoral sports, calendar of sports activities and competitions
culminating in a National & quote; PALARONG PAMBANSA & quote;.
2. Conduct local sports and summit in coordination with other public and private
entities
3. Oversee and ensure implementation of physical fitness and sports program and
activities in their respective areas of concern.
4. Disseminate proper information of the national policy and program
5. Assist in the identification, recruitment and training of gifted and talented athletes.
6. Submit a quarterly report to the Chairman of the national PFSDC and furnish a copy
of the same to the Philippine Sports Commission
7. Perform other functions deemed necessary to promote and implement the national
policy and programs.

SECTION III. EFFECTIVITY

This Executive Order shall effect immediately.
