OBSERVATIONS

1. In many areas, emergency lights and other lights share the same circuit breaker, which makes it difficult

for us to test the emergency lights.

A functional test shall be conducted annually for a minimum of 3 hours and every month for 30 seconds

of simulation of mains failure.

2. Identified that more than 85% of the inspected emergency lights lack adequate backup or aren't working

enough hours as per requirement by performing functional tests of emergency lights with separate

circuit breakers.

3. There are more than 50% emergency lights without power.

4. According to Inspire technicians, many emergency lights don’t have asset code. So those lights are never

inspected or tested by Inspire in the last 4 years.

5. In some buildings, emergency lights are used in the place of exit lights.

6. In many buildings, more than 50% of exit lights are not working.

7. Lux level is less for more than 80% of the assets.

8. Hangar-4 is having central battery system which is not maintained by Inspire team for the last 4 years.

The batteries and cabling condition is poor and the panel is in OFF condition
CONCLUSION

1. Proper handover of all the assets with details of existing condition, replacement history of equipment

and batteries are required from Inspire.

2. It is recommended that the cables for all emergency lights with sharing circuit breakers to be replaced.

3. Since more than 85 % of the assets have issues with back up / lux it is recommended to replace total

quantity of emergency lights and exit lights at site

4. Inspire needs to check all emergency lights without power. If the problem lies with the lights, they

should be replaced.

5. It is necessary to replace all the emergency lights with exit lights in areas that require exit lighting.

6. The Hangar-4 central battery system needs to be inspected by the manufacturer or the complete system

needs replacement.

7. The condition of all the emergency and exit lights without assets needs to be provided by Inspire and

those lights need to be added to the asset list.

8. Quotation will be submitted by fireman safety for all the replacements required after a detailed survey

with the assistance of the Inspire team.
