In adherence to DepEd Order No. 22, s. 2023 and Division Memorandum Order No. 37, s. 2024 Conduct of 2023 Mid-
Year In-Service Training (INSET), the mid-year break is scheduled to take place on January 24-26 and 29-30, 2024. In pursuant
to this, the midyear shall be spent for the conduct of the Mid-Year Performance Review and Evaluation and School-Based In-
Service training of Teachers. teachers in which the first two days shall be spent evaluating the school’s progress in implementing
the educational programs, projects and activities as well as reviewing the performance of teachers to address common concerns
and the last 3 days shall be devoted to the conduct of the school-based INSET activities for teachers and preparation of
instructional materials. Moreover, it will also be allotted for addressing teachers’ development needs based on their individual
personal and professional development plans reflected on their Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF).
Indeed, there is a need to address these in order to ensure the continuous professional growth of its teaching personnel based on
life-long learning for the improvement of teaching and learning.
Moreover, this training program presents a highly promising avenue for enhancing the capabilities of educators in
integrating the content knowledge within and across curriculum teaching areas, crafting lessons that seamlessly integrate
technology. It will also equip teachers with the skills to adeptly apply their content knowledge in instructional practices, fostering
improvement both within specific subjects and across the broader curriculum. Additionally, participants will receive valuable
reminders of effective techniques and strategies for teaching reading, empowering them to incorporate these methods into the
regular "Drop Everything and Read" (DEAR) sessions held every Friday.
Furthermore, the training endeavors to elevate educators' proficiency in navigating policy frameworks. Participants will be upskilled
in comprehending and applying the Policy Guidelines on the Implementation Act of Comprehensive Sexuality Education. They will
also undergo orientation on the Safe Spaces Act, gaining insights into creating secure and inclusive learning environments. As
part of their professional development, educators will receive guidance on employing best assessment strategies, ensuring a
comprehensive and effective approach to evaluating student progress.
Objectives:
1. Elevate teachers' expertise on the effective strategies for applying content knowledge within
and across the curriculum.
2. Orient/Reorient the teachers on the importance of promoting positive discipline inside the
classroom for better classroom instruction outcome.
3. Introduce teachers to a variety of strategies for teaching reading, specifically tailored for the
DEAR project every Friday, fostering a richer reading experience.
4. Provide teachers with a comprehensive understanding of the Guidelines on the Implementation
Act of Comprehensive Sexuality Education and the Safe Spaces Act through informative
orientations.
5. Equip teachers with insights into strategies for promoting independent learning, empowering
them to cultivate self-reliant and motivated learners.
6. Guide teachers in adopting the best assessment strategies within the classroom, enhancing
their instructional approaches for optimal student learning.
