________ 1. The measurement of the opposition to the current flow.

________ 2. An electric potential energy per unit charge.
________ 3. A building up at the negative terminal of a cell/battery which then flows from this terminal as negative
charges repel one another.
________ 4. The flow of charge measured in unit Amperes.
________ 5. The physical force exerted on the wire.
________ 6. Current flows from the positive terminal to the negative.
________ 7. Electrons flow from the negative terminal to the positive.
________ 8. It supplies the energy in electric circuit.
________ 9. A law stating that electric current is proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance.
________ 10. A device that stores chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy.

II. Solve for the following word problems. COMPLETE SOLUTION.

1. An iron wire with a length of 1.86 meters will have a resistance of 2.04Ω. What resistance will an iron wire of 2.71
meters have?

2. An iron wire with a diameter of 0.80mm will have a resistance of 0.4ohms. What resistance will an iron wire of
0.40mm diameter have if it has the same length as the iron wire?

3. What is the resistance of a silver wire 15.25 meters long at 20°C and whose area is 5.672 x 10-8m2? The resistivity
of silver at 20°C is 1.60x10-8 Ω.m.

4. If your skin were very moist so that your resistance was only 1000 ohms, and you touched the terminals of a 24
volt battery, how much current would you draw?
