 ABOUT MYSELF
Dear teacher:
First and foremost, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Viviana Fuentes Hilares, and I am 18 years old. I am
currently pursuing a degree in psychology at the "UCSUR" in Peru. Additionally, I am taking English classes at ICPNA.
Regarding my English studies, I am almost finishing my classes at ICPNA, which is truly remarkable. I started studying
at this institute in February of this year, initially, embarking on this chapter of my life was somewhat challenging due to
the dedication and sacrifice required to excel in each cycle. However, I quickly adapted to the program and was pleasantly
surprised to achieve really good grades. This was partly due to my existing knowledge of English, which I had acquired
prior to joining the institute. While I´m aware that I am not a flawless student and have areas for improvement in my
English, I have had the pleasure of meeting exceptional individuals at ICPNA. The teachers I have encountered are highly
professional, and my fellow students have been excellent partners.
I am uncertain whether I will continue my English studies, as I intend to focus on my primary studies at the university.
However, I am considering exploring new languages, such as Portuguese or Italian.This is a tentative plan that requires
careful consideration.
I am deeply grateful to the teachers for the knowledge they have imparted to me. This is all I can express. I also extend
my gratitude to the friends I have made. I will cherish this phase of my life with for a very long time. Thank you.

My grandfather: the story of Mariano Hilares
Mariano Hilares was a man who encountered numerous challenges. Mariano was born in
Spain on October 12th, 1931, in a family with a lot of financial difficulties. Growing up
during the crisis of World War II, the scarcity of resources posed enormous obstacles for
him and his parents. Instead of giving up on these circumstances, he exceeded expectations
and transformed difficulties into an opportunity for personal growth. In the early 40’s, he
moved to Peru with his family and started to work at a very young age, although he
struggled at first, he eventually was able to balance his jobs and his studies. In 1963, his
dad passed away, and even though he felt hopeless for a while, nothing stopped him from his
goals. Two years later, he graduated from the San Marcos National University and started
a loving family. This tireless dedication sculpted his character, instilling in him an
unbreakable determination.
