Expected Outcomes Teaching plan and Course Content

You will be able to:

• Understand how each type of electric machine (motor or generator) and
drive system work.
• Recognise the similarities between the various motors and drives.
• Understand electric motor drives as the synthesis of electric machines,
power electronics and feedback control.
• Model and simulate a variable-speed electric powertrain including power
electronic converter, motor, load and feedback control.
• Choose wisely when purchasing a complete drive system.
