24. Dielectric strength of air is 3 × 106 V m–1. Suppose the radius of a hollow sphere in the Van de Graff generator is R = 0.5
m, calculate the maximum potential difference created by this Van de Graaff generator.

25. Calculate the electric field due to a dipole on its axial line.

26. Derive the expression for resultant capacitance, when capacitors are connected in series and in parallel.

27. Explain in detail the effect of dielectric placed in a parallel plate capacitor when the capacitor is disconnected from the
battery.
