4) MATERIAL
The grade of concrete used is M25 and the grade of reinforcing steel is Fe 415 ( Tender document, section 8, pg
5) SOIL DATA
As per Cl. 6.3.1,pg 16/18 of of Geo-technical report, net SBC of soil is considered as 10 t/m2 for all the foundatio
6) Design Methodology:
I) The overground pipeline passing through the weak soil strata is proposed to be supported on RCC pillars resting
These pillars are T-shaped Frame as shown in Fig.1.The frame consists of top beam to support the pipe, which in
supported on column resting on pile cap.Pile cap bottom is kept 1500 mm below existing ground level (EGL) to a
cover through which services like pipes, cables, etc could cross, if required.the frame is varying in height with res
existing ground level. The frames are grouped in the following categories
a) 0.0 m to 2.0 m
b) 2.1 m to 3.0 m
II) Following are the Loads considered for the design of Frame:
A) Vertical Load:

b) Seismic force.
a) Seismic force.
b) Wind load.
iii) The T- frame is analysed using Staad-Pro model as shown in fig 1.with column base as fixed. The RCC members
as per IS-456-2000;(Limit state method). The pillar frame is analysed by Staad -Pro(Structural analysis & design S
the frame column fixed at top of Pile cap.The pile reactions and the pile design is then done using Staad-pro.The
on the pile cap are taken as per the output file of previous pillar frame Staad Ananysis. The codal provisions of IS
(clause:5.5.2,pg 9) have also been used in the design for calculating the fixidity length of pile which in turn is use
pile frame.
iv) Load Cases considered in Staad for analysis and design of T-frames are:
Following are the load combinations which are been adopted in the design of the frame.
