DAY 1: Transfer in from international airport to Hotel

Arrival in Quito. Our guide will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to the hotel in
Quito.

DAY 2: Transfer out from hotel to international airport

Pick up at the lobby of Hotel to take you from hotel to the international airport for your
flight back home.

COLONIAL CITY TOUR OF QUITO & EQUATORIAL MONUMENT

(6 hours /any time, any day)
You will be picked up at your hotel and head into
the old city. Our tour start with a magnificent view
of Guapulo valley. Then we will drive to Basilica
church , along the way you will see sit the Nation-
al Congress’s House (stone-carved façade).
When we arrive to the colonial center , you will
visit the main attractions such as: Independence
Square, the Presidential Palace, the Metropoli-
tan Cathedral , the Archbishop’s Palace, the
Municipal Building, the spectacular Church of La
Compañía (1605), with its breathtaking gilded
altars, considered the finest example of baroque
art in the Americas. The Moorish influences can
be noted in the intricate designs carved on the
magnificent red and gold columns and ceilings. Continue to the church and monastery of San
Francisco (1535), which is the oldest church in Ecuador.
Then you will be driven to one of the highest viewpoints of the city “ Panecillo Hill”. Here you
will have a spectacular view of Quito : modern and colonial areas; and see the only winged Vir-
gin in South America.
Afterward , We will drive from Quito to Middle of the world, just 22 km far away, here you
will see the Equatorial Line Monument . The Equatorial line marking latitude 0° 0' 0" is a unique
place where you can place one foot in one hemisphere and another foot in other at the same
time.

The monument reminds the French-Spanish expedition from 1763-1744, which, under
the leadership of Charles de la Condamine, determined the position of the equator. Inside
the monument you have the ethnographical museum, where you will get to know a lot about
the different cultures Ecuador has. We will visit the complex with its plazas and streets.

Return to Quito.

OTAVALO MARKET CLASSIC (*)

(1 Day/ any day. Biggest market on Saturday)
Early this morning, we will be driven to the North of Quito, along the Pan-American Highway ,
with an overall view of the dramatic Andean scenery, our trip start through in Calderón, a town
where the famous bread-dough figures are
created. Our next stop is Cayambe just to
taste the local specialty, “Bizcochos”, prior
to arriving at the Province of lakes. At the
entrance of Otavalo and at the skirts of the
Imbabura volcano you can see the magnify
Saint Pablo Lake, we will have here a short
time to take a nice photos of this amazing
view.

Immediately, continue to Otavalo the most

famous indigenous market and the largest
in South America. Arrive just in time to bar-
gain for beautiful and colorful tapestries, native paintings, hand-knitted wool sweaters, wood
carvings, silver jewelry, woolen and straw hats. The Otavalo Indian market dates back to pre-

Inca times and is famous for its textiles woven on back strap and shuttle looms. You will have
time to visit this colorful market and stroll along the narrow cobblestone streets filled with Ota-
valo Indians wearing blue ponchos, white trousers and long braided hair.
After a delicious lunch in one of the local haciendas, visit Cotocachi, a town famous for its
handmade leather clothing. If time allows, a quick visit to Cuicocha Lake (An ancient eroded
volcanic crater famous for the deep lake found within.) Time for shopping and come back to
Quito..

MINDO CLOUD FOREST TOUR

Approximately 90 kilometers northwest of the city of Quito is the town of Mindo.
Mindo can be found 1,100 meters above sea level, it has more than 450 species of birds. In
addition, 1 20 species of mammals, 60 reptiles, 45 amphibians, and thousands of insects and
flora can be found in this valley. Excursions to
the waterfalls, hikes, regattas and bird
watching are some of the activities that you
can participate in within the marvelous forest.
Relax while admiring the grand eur of nature
listening to the birds, insects and restless
butterflies during your hike.
Mindo you can have the unique
experience to zip through the Mindo
Nambillo Cloud forest, there are many
things to do and to see in this amazing
area

PAPALLACTA HOT SPRINGS.

Will pick you up at your hotel. Driving to the Northwest from Quito (2hours by car) you
arrive in the town of Papallacta which is very well known for its curative hot springs.
Besides improving intestinal function, the baths' curative properties are also anti-
allergenic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and anti-rheumatic). This village is at 3.700m in
the midst of an evergreen Páramo landscape.

The source temperature of the thermal baths goes between 30°C and 70°C (86°F and
158°F). At the pools the temperature ranges from 36°C to 40°C (97°F to 104°F). The
Thermoludic Area is the perfect place
to experience a variety of different
hydro- massages using either water
jets or air bubbles.

You can also do some other activities

as hiking, or horseback riding.

During this journey we will taste a

delicious meal of trout which is the
specialty dish of this area. After this
relaxing day we will come back to
your hotel in Quito.
