The Researchers
Module 1

Performance Task

1. Your thoughts about the tasks, difficulties, and challenges that you
might face in the course of your research work.
In many ways, mental health is just like physical health: everybody has it and we
need to take care of it.
Good mental health means being generally able to think, feel and react in the
ways that you need and want to live your life. But if you go through a period of
poor mental health you might find the ways you're frequently thinking, feeling or
reacting become difficult, or even impossible, to cope with. This can feel just as
bad as a physical illness, or even worse.
Mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year. They
range from common problems, such as depression and anxiety, to rarer problems
such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

2. Definition of your research problem.

Our emotional, psychological, and social well-being are all part of our mental
health. It has an impact on the way we think, feel, and act. It also influences how
we deal with stress, interact with others, and make decisions. Mental health is
vital at all stages of life, including childhood, adolescence, and maturity. If you
have mental health difficulties, your thinking, mood, and behavior may be altered
over the course of your life. Many factors play a role in mental illness, including:
Genes and brain chemistry are examples of biological influences. Trauma or abuse
is examples of life experiences. Mental health issues run in the family.

Mental Health and Wellness Positive mental health allows people to: Realize their
full potential Cope with the stresses of life Work productively Make meaningful
contributions to their communities Ways to maintain positive mental health
include: Getting professional help if you need it Connecting with others Staying
positive Getting physically active Helping others Getting enough sleep Developing
coping skills Wellness and Mental Health People with good mental health can:
Realize all of their potential Deal with life's pressures Work efficiently. Contribute
meaningfully to their communities. The following are some suggestions for
maintaining good mental health: If you require expert assistance, you should do
so. Making connections with other people keeping a positive attitude Increasing
your physical activity assisting others getting adequate rest Increasing coping
abilities

3. Your knowledge about the subject, and other things you wish to
learn further about the subject.

Research is defined as the creation of new knowledge and/or the use of existing
knowledge in a new and creative way so as to generate new concepts,
methodologies and understandings. This could include synthesis and analysis of
previous research to the extent that it leads to new and creative outcomes.

This definition of research is consistent with a broad notion of research and

experimental development (R&D) as comprising of creative work undertaken on a
systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge
of humanity, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise
new applications.

This definition of research encompasses pure and strategic basic research, applied
research and experimental development. Applied research is original investigation
undertaken to acquire new knowledge but directed towards a specific, practical
aim or objective (including a client-driven purpose).

If I have something I wish to learn about the research, it is about the how to
develop research questions and form and test your hypotheses.
4. Identifying prospective participants.
Psychologists seek to understand and explain thoughts, emotions, feelings, and
behavior. ... Clinical psychologists assess, diagnose, and treat mental, emotional,
and behavioral disorders. Clinical psychologists help people deal with problems
ranging from short-term personal issues to severe, chronic conditions.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (an M.D. or D.O.) who specializes in mental

health, including substance use disorders. Psychiatrists are qualified to assess
both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems. Mental health
nurses, also known as psychiatric nurses, are mental health professionals whose
field of nursing involves care for patients dealing with mental health disorders.
Nursing is such a robust and vast field, and mental health nursing is an important
specialty within it. Social workers are professionals who aim to enhance overall
well-being and help meet basic and complex needs of communities and people.
Social work practice involves the understanding of human development, behavior
and the social, economic and cultural institutions and interactions. A peer worker
provides emotional and social support to others with whom they share a common
experience. They focus on building a mutual relationship that fosters hope and
optimism. Occupational therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through
the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop,
recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working
Recovery from mental disorders and/or substance abuse disorders is a process of
change through which individuals: Improve their health and wellness. Live a self-
directed life. Strive to achieve their full potential. rehabilitation workers You'll
support people to live independently, often following an illness or accident, and
help them access support with housing, finance, social activities and life skills such
as cooking or budgeting.
5. The data gathering techniques you will use and where you will
gather your data.
The underlying need for Data collection is to capture quality evidence that seeks
to answer all the questions that have been posed. Through data collection
businesses or management can deduce quality information that is a prerequisite
for making informed decisions. To improve the quality of information, it is
expedient that data is collected so that you can draw inferences and make
informed decisions on what is considered factual. Under the main three basic
groups of research methods (quantitative, qualitative and mixed), there are
different tools that we can used to collect data. Interviews can be done either
face-to-face or over the phone. Surveys/questionnaires can be paper or web
based. Observations and experiments can be conducted to collect either
quantitative, qualitative or a mixture of the two methods. Records can also be
used to study previous information by other researchers.

6. Relevant documents which you should search and retrieve.

It’s true, it’s a lot to digest. But the information on this website only scratches the
surface of what’s out there. Here are a few of the most reliable organizations and
websites dedicated to the mental health of Americans of all ages. There is a lot of
inaccurate content on the Internet. Relying on blogs and taking one person’s
opinion often does not leave you with helpful information. Try to be thoughtful
about where you go to learn about your health and mental health. Read on for
sources that you can depend on. When resources are listed on these websites,
they are also reliable. You can certainly start with The Jed Foundation’s resources:
JED’s Mental Health Resource Center, ULifeline and Half of Us. NIMH. The
National Institute of Mental Health is a massive government agency that studies
the full range of mental illnesses. The “Health Topics” section of its website
provides basic information about a wide range of issues related to mental health
and more. SAMHSA. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration “leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of
the nation. SAMHSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and
mental illness on America’s communities.” This government agency offers studies
and data for professionals and the public focused on the prevention of mental
illness and substance abuse. SAMHSA hosts a treatment-finder and a 24/7
helpline that can help you find mental health or substance treatment. NIDA.
Another government agency, the National Institute on Drug Abuse conducts
research and spreads the word so that everyone has the latest information about
drug abuse. The website has a special section for teens that provides information
written for teens, FAQ’s and blogs about drugs and dangers of drug abuse.

7. The manner by which you will execute the documentation process.

We will accomplish the process of this research by collecting, analyzing, and
elucidating data based on our group observation and individual ideas about this
topic.
Module 2

Performance Task

Qualitative Research
1. I inform you in this letter that I am accepting you into our Company to become
a Tailor because you have graduated from TESDA. I appreciate your application to
our Company. I am writing to confirm my acceptance of your offer to work with
Our Company and to tell you all the benefits you will receive. The task is exactly
what I have ready to perform and hope to do. I believe I can make a significant
contribution, corporate to the company and I am grateful for the opportunity you
have given me. As we discussed, I will report to work at 8:00 am on July 1 and
complete the medical examination and drug evaluation on the start date. In
addition, I must complete all work and the insurance form for the new employee
orientation. I look forward to working with you and your great team. I appreciate
your trust in me and I am very excited to join your company.

2. I, as a secretary of this company aims to ensure training for applicants that

tech-voc graduates Our company are hoping that TESDA graduates can come up
properly with the job assigned despite the agency's tight budget for 2011. I Arlie
Mae Abat as secretary of our company stated that the agency aims to employ 55
percent, or 35, 000, of the agency's 65, 000 TWSP and PESFA scholars for the
coming year. Graduates of the TESDA program are expected to find work in either
the wage or self-employment sectors. Our company will be able to cater to a wide
range of student abilities and interests, giving tertiary education dropouts a
second chance and providing options for unemployed degree holders. "We will
achieve our goal by working harder" -Arlie
Quantitative Research
1. Technical vocational graduates have a better likelihood of finding work and
have a shorter job search time. Rubie Caoile Jr. Director General of the company,
said this yesterday after revealing the findings of an impact evaluation research
showing that TESDA graduates have an easier time finding jobs and in a shorter
amount of time. "The skills taught in tech-voc courses are in high demand and are
tailored to the needs of businesses." They choose their courses based on their
professional interests and abilities. That is why they have no trouble finding
work," Adrien Fajardo explained. In order to identify in-demand jobs, the TESDA
meets with industry experts and sits down with them to build the curriculum.
Industry practitioners, according to Adrien, have produced 218 training criteria
that TESDA has codified for all schools offering tech-voc programs to comply. Prior
to enrolment, the TESDA requires students to undergo a career evaluation.

2. This ensures that the course students enroll in is a good match for their
aptitude and career interests. According to the TESDA report, 55 percent of the
more than 200 thousand graduates who answered to the poll were already
employed. More over a third (36%) of those who completed their courses were
hired within a month, and a quarter (26%) were hired within 1-3 months. Our
companies are TESDA's on-the-job training partners, and they are immediately
hired after their training. The businesses that work in the business process
outsourcing (BPO) market are the ones who provide training and jobs to their
graduates. The following industries had the most graduates: footwear and leather
goods, land transportation, processed food and drinks, business process
outsourcing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, metals and engineering,
construction, and furniture and fixtures. The bulk of these graduates earn
between P5,000.00 and P20,000.00 per month, according to the survey.
According to the National Statistics Office's October 2008 Labor Force Survey,
their monthly earnings average P8,885.74, which is greater than the average basic
pay of wage and salary workers of P288.95 per day or P6,136.00 per month (at 22
working days).
