COMMUNICATIONS POLICY

Fruity Schools Africa is registered with the NGO’s Board as a Non-Governmental


Organization in Kenya under registration number OP.218/051/20-345/11949.

This policy is designed to guide Fruity Schools Africa in maintaining robust,


effective, and ethical communication practices, fostering transparency and trust
with all its stakeholders.

1. Objective
Fruity Schools Africa is dedicated to effective and transparent communication
with its stakeholders. This policy outlines the organization's principles for
communicating its activities, achievements, and challenges.
2. Policy Statement
Fruity Schools Africa adheres to the following communications principles:
• Clarity: Communication will be clear, concise, and understandable, using
language that is accessible to all stakeholders.
• Accuracy: Ensuring that all communications are factual and verified,
maintaining integrity in all messages conveyed.
• Timeliness: Information will be disseminated in a timely manner,
keeping stakeholders informed about recent developments and future
plans.
• Inclusiveness: We will engage a diverse range of stakeholders,
recognizing and respecting the diversity of our audience.
• Responsiveness: We commit to actively listening and responding to
feedback and inquiries from our stakeholders.
3. Communication Channels
• Internal Communications: Regular updates, meetings, and newsletters
to keep staff informed and engaged.
• External Communications: Utilizing platforms like social media, the
website, press releases, and public events to communicate with the
broader community.
• Crisis Communication: Establishing a clear protocol for communication
in times of crisis, ensuring accurate and prompt dissemination of
information.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
• Regular engagement with stakeholders, including schools, partners,
donors, and the community, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
5. Confidentiality and Privacy
• Adherence to confidentiality and privacy norms, respecting the sensitivity
of certain information.

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with the media and
providing clear, accurate, and consistent information to journalists.

• Regular assessment of the effectiveness of communication strategies and
adapting to changing needs and feedback.

• Providing training to staff on effective communication techniques and the
importance of adhering to this policy.
9. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its continued relevance and
effectiveness and to incorporate new communication strategies and tools.
