NOTICE – S - 84/2023

All the students of UG/PG/PhD (all types) are advised to strictly adhere to the following
timeline and guidelines for their forth coming Spring Semester (2023-24) Registration:
1. Timeline: as per the Academic Calendar 2023-24 (Spring Semester)

a Spring Semester Fee Payment for all 23.12.2023 to 29.12.2023 (Without Late Fee)
UG/PG/PhD 30.12.2023 to 02.01.2024 (With Late Fee)
b Physical Reporting for Spring Semester 02.01.2024 (Tuesday)
c Spring Semester Begins 04.01.2024 (Thursday)
d Spring Semester Registration for all 04.01.2024 to 05.01.2024 (Thursday-Friday)
UG/PG/PhD
e Commencement of Classes for all UG/PG/PhD 08.01.2024 (Monday)

2. Physical reporting by a student of UG/PG/PhD (all types) for Spring Semester registration is
compulsory without which no registration will be done.
3. Student has to produce ID Card, fee payment receipt (copy) and Affidavit on a bond paper (in
original) at the time of registration (Physical Reporting).
4. The registration will be done centrally by the Academic Division with the help of Faculty
Advisor of the Concerned Dept. using Bio-Metric system.
5. Semester Registration will not be done for non-reporting students (Physically).
6. The students who are doing Internship outside the Institute and pursuing PhD (Executive and
Part Time) are also advised to report physically at the time of registration.
7. The Format for Affidavit soon available in the website. This affidavit has to be produced by
the student accepting that he/she will maintain all criteria laid in the regulation/ordinance to
get eligibility for appearing examination and continuing education at NIT Jamshedpur.
8. The rule for registration as mentioned in the regulation is given below for ready reference:
“9.1 Every student of the B.Tech. (Hons.) course is required to be present and register in their
respective department at the commencement of each semester on the day fixed for and notified in
the Academic Calendar.
9.2 A student who does not register on the day announced for the purpose may be permitted,
in consideration of any compelling reason, late registration within the next three working days on
payment of a prevalent additional late fee as prescribed by the Institute. Normally no late
registration shall be permitted after the third working week from the scheduled date.
9.3 Only those students will be permitted to register who have :
a) cleared all Institute and Hall dues of the previous semesters,
b) paid all required prescribed fees for the current semester,
c) not been debarred from registering for a specified period on disciplinary or any
other ground.”
