Some systems may not have all of the options listed above.

Installing OS/2 Service Pack 11

This has to be done ONLY if you had to either re-install OS/2 or, if for any
reason, it was not installed in a prior FixPack. IBM FixPack 11 was originally
part of v 6.3, FixPack 3.
Use the following two instructions to see what level your FixPack is at and what the
time and date is for two files.

1. From a C:> prompt, type syslevel. Then, compare the current CSD (Corrective
Service Disk) level with your system. If the following two checks display the
correct information, you are at the current level and do not have to install
Service Pack 11.
C:\OS2\INSTALL\SYSLEVEL.FPK OS/2 Warp 4 Service Level
Version 1.00 Component ID 566933010
Type FixPak
Current CSD level: XR0M011
Prior CSD level: XR0M011

2. From a C:> prompt, check that the following two files, in C:\OS2\DLL\
PARALLEL.PDR and C:\OS\DLL\IBMDULL\IBMNULL.DRV have the proper
time and date stamp:
PARALLEL.PDR, would be: 4-13-99 15848 and IBMNULL.DRV would be: 1-
14-98 133752.

Installing the DDFP Drivers

1. Insert the CIS installation disk into the controller CD-ROM drive.

6
2. Open an OS/2 window on your desktop and change to the directory for the CD.
This is usually the D drive and can be accessed by typing D: and pressing Enter.
3. Type cd os2_fp\DDFP and press Enter.
4. From this prompt do the following:
a. Type FIXTPREP and press Enter.
b. Type os2serv and press Enter.
5. At this point a window appears. In the “Serviceable Products” box your OS/2
partition/drive/pathname is displayed.

If no serviceable products are available, skip to the following section, Installing

the FixPack. When you have completed that section, return here to install the
DDFP drivers.
6. Highlight the correct partition/drive/pathname (if you have more than one, ask
the system administrator which option is correct) and click the Install button to
install the preparation files.
7. When the installation is complete, an informational window will display the
message: Installation complete. Please shut down the system and reboot. Press
OK to return to the OS/2 window.
8. Type EXIT, and press Enter to return to the desktop.
9. Reboot your system.
