SUBJECT: _ PRESCRIBED UNIFORM and PROPER DECORUM FOR NURSING AFFILIATES
For the purpose of uniformity, all NCMH nurse affiliates shall wear the prescribed uniform in
accordance to the following guidelines:
|. Female and male student nurses shall wear their white clinical uniform with
laboratory/smock gown during their tour of duty. Wearing of scrub suit is not
recommended,
|. Female student nurses should adopt a hairstyle that is both presentable and convenient
to manage. Long hair should be put in a neat and netted bun (pusod). The hair should
‘not touch the collar line and if opted to wear bangs, these should be above the eyebrows.
The use of colored ribbons and hair accessories are not allowed. Instead, black hair clips
may be used.
Il, Male nurses must observe a clean hair-cut. Growing beard and mustache is not allowed.
Hair color is discouraged,
IV. Uniform shoes must be closed, low-heeled and must always be cleaned. Rubber shoes
‘may be allowed to prevent accidents and injuries provided that iis in all white
\V. Wearing of other RLE attire such as jeans, white shirt and the like will only be allowed on
the day of socialization,
VI. Fingernails must be cut short. Application of nail polish is discouraged. Long fingernails
may cause injury to patients and may harbor microorganisms,
‘Moreover, the code of ethics for Filipino nurses that they must conform to accepted principles
of proper decorum. As such, we are expected to wear the uniform with pride and dignity appropriate
in our profession in a hospital setting.
