[ARDMORE, PA] (October 24th, 2011) First Friday Main Line is pleased to announce the return of the Emerging Artists of The Main Line Show with PECO Energy as the presenting sponsor on Friday, November 4th, 2011! This show focuses on the great artists of tomorrow and we hope you will join us! First Friday Main Line and The Ardmore Initiative will host a pre-show reception for the artists, their families, and teachers from 5:30pm to 7pm at the Ardmore Initiative office- 56 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore. The Emerging Artists Show is an exciting celebration of the artistic talent in our community's elementary, middle, high schools and colleges. Schools participating include are Lower Merion High School, Welsh Valley Jr High, Radnor Elementry,Harcum College, Haverford College, Bala Cynwyd Elementary School, Waldron-Mercy Academy. (list incomplete) This event supports First Friday Main Line's mission of bringing art to our community. All artwork will be displayed in the windows of businesses throughout the community and posted on our website at www.firstfridaymainline.com Also exciting for November? Ardmore's Oogy is back !! Attend a book reading and signing with author, Larry Levin Friday, November 04, 2011, 6:00 p.m. at The Case Gallery- 14 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA! Oogys tale is the story of a puppy brought back from the brink of death, and the family he adopted. In 2002. Oogy one of the ugliest dog they had ever seen ran up to them and captured their hearts. Oogy had been used as bait for fighting dogs when he was just a few months old. The staff at Ardmore Animal Hospital saved his life. The Levins, whose sons are themselves adopted, were unable to resist Oogy's charms, and decided to take him home. Heartwarming and redemptive, OOGY is the story of the people who were determined to rescue this dog against all odds. Music will include Wayne Harvey and Friends at Past*Present*Future and the Main Line Art Center's Arts Alive Mobile will be making a special visit to Gyboree in Ardmore from 6 to 7 pm!
