Based on what we had studied from this chapter answer the following

questions related to chapter 4

1.-What lies did the humans tell about Animal Farm?

They said that the animals practiced cannibalism, tortured each other with red-hot
pokers, and shared the love and affection of the females on the farm.

2.-Who died during the attack?

Because Mr Jones shot at snowball andy he finished killing a sheep.

3.-Who received a reward?.

Snowball and Boxer each receive medals with the inscription “Animal Hero, First
Class.”

4.-Why did Snowball and Napoleon send out flights of pigeons?

They use the summer fines only birds or carrier pigeons to tell everyone about their
rebellion and thus spread it to other farms and encourage them to escape and to do
something public propaganda and because they wanted them to spread Animalism
throughout the world.

5.-What were the names of the neighboring farms and who owned each one?

Foxwood is owned by Mr. Pilkington, and Pinchfield is owned by Mr. Frederick.

6.-What happened on the farm on early October?

At last, in early October, a flight of pigeons alerts Animal Farm that Mr. Jones has
begun marching on the farm with some of Pilkington's and Frederick's men.

Boxer felt that there was nothing to celebrate since some of his comrades had been

The humans try and stop the spread of Animalism by stating “the animals there
practiced cannibalism, tortured one another with red-hot horseshoes, and had
females in common”. They were basically trying to spread lies so that the animals
would not want to rebel.

9.-How do the animals celebrate their victory?

The animals in Animal Farm celebrate their victory by having a spontaneous


celebration in which they sing "Beasts of England" and run the flag up the flagpole.

10.-What part does Napoleon play during the Battle of the Cowshed?
During the Battle of the Cowshed, Napoleon was not present whatsoever. His lack of
presence shows that Napoleon does not care for the well-being of everyone and
does not share in the defense of the farm. The text says that Napoleon and Snowball
sent out pigeons to broadcast the story of the rebellion
