Engineering department and also the adviser of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers- PSU Urdaneta Student Chapter, Engr. Mark Jefferson B. Castro, to the supportive co-adviser of the PICE-PSU Student Chapter, Engr. Ronnel L. Moreno, faculty members of the civil engineering department, future civil engineers, our dear students, participants, friends, to our dear sponsors, ladies and gentlemen, good day! It gives me great pleasure and pride to welcome you all to this special event entitled “BLUEPRINT 2.0: The Perspective”, with the theme “Fostering Innovations and Bridging Foundations for the Next Generation of Civil Engineers”. Today is special because we do not only celebrate National Civil Engineering Month but we also celebrate the day of the valiant hero who sparked the flames of revolution, Andres Bonifacio. Andres Bonifacio paved the way for our nation’s freedom, and he founded a nation built on bravery, equality, justice, and unity. Truly, he reminds us of our duty to contribute to the continued progress and unity of our nation not only as a citizen but as an engineer. We celebrate this momentous day through a series of lectures on various topics in line with our profession. As civil engineers and future civil engineers, we play a vital role in nation-building through fostering innovations, welcoming diverse ideas, and bridging foundations to pave the way for the next generation of civil engineers. We have an important part in designing and building our nation into a more sustainable one for future generations. Together, we make blueprints, we make plans, to face the challenges of the present and prepare for a sustainable future. Innovation is the driving force behind the transformation of civil engineering into a more sustainable, resilient, and forward- thinking discipline. We, civil engineers can pioneer the solutions needed to build a better world for generations to come. As part of our celebration, several topics in Civil Engineering will be presented by our resource speakers. An open forum after every presentation will be allotted for the participants to strengthen their knowledge about the topics. Brace yourselves also for icebreakers, games, raffle draws, and the most-awaited Bardagulan EXTREME. It will really be a one-day full of knowledge, new experiences, games, and surprises. I shall not prolong my welcome remarks because I can now see the excitement in the faces of our dear students, or should I say, future civil engineers. Just do not forget the reason why you are here, which is to enjoy while learning. Thank you and Padayon, Civil Engineers!
