Introduct�on

Ata Mob�lya �s a workshop that conta�ns the tools and mach�nes necessary for
product�on. In th�s workshop, the des�red products are des�gned for projects and orders, then
the product�on stage �s started w�th the necessary mater�als.

The dut�es of the master and apprent�ces work�ng �n the workshop are as follows:

The appropr�ate des�gn accord�ng to the des�red order to make �t work.

Furn�ture need to prepare tools and mater�als when mak�ng.

Measur�ng and calculat�ng the s�ze you want to do the work on the type of furn�ture.

Inspect�ng the furn�ture dur�ng dr�ll�ng, cutt�ng, assembly and carry�ng.

F�x�ng �t �f the product has a bug.

Check�ng products after packag�ng of the products.

And they are respons�ble for tak�ng the necessary measures to avo�d damage to the product
dur�ng transport and, �f necessary, for go�ng to the address to wh�ch the product w�ll be
del�vered and assembl�ng �t.

Day 1

On the f�rst day of my �nternsh�p, I v�s�ted the workshop accompan�ed by Mr. Ata
and met w�th the employees. I have obta�ned prel�m�nary �nformat�on about the mach�nes �n
the workshop. I found out how they work. The mach�nes �n the workshop were:

1) Cutt�ng saw: The cutt�ng mach�nes are c�rcular mach�nes that are placed s�de by s�de
w�th the saw and are a complementary part, w�th a sl�d�ng table and the poss�b�l�ty of cutt�ng
the front part w�th subsequent shap�ng, manually feed�ng the mater�al. It �s used for cutt�ng
mater�als such as wood, ch�pboard, plast�c �n the des�red d�mens�ons and w�th d�fferent
rotat�on speeds (3700, 5100 rpm).

2) Band�ng Mach�ne: Edge band�ng, also known as band�ng us�ng a mach�ne, �s the
process of cover�ng the untreated edges of wooden panels w�th a th�n str�p of wood, PVC, or
res�nous mater�al. In the furn�ture �ndustry, tape �s adhered to the edges of ch�pboard and
MDF us�ng an edge band�ng mach�ne.

3) Plan�ng Mach�ne: A plan�ng mach�ne �s a tool used for plann�ng tasks that �nvolves
cutt�ng wood or sawdust �nto small p�eces. Plan�ng mach�nes are also dev�ces made to be
capable of carry�ng out var�ous tasks, such as surface and bay surface open�ng.

Day 2

On the second day of my �nternsh�p, I exam�ned the hand tools �n the workshop
closely and learned what they were useful for.

1) Grater hand planer: Th�s tool �s used to obta�n smooth surfaces and to br�ng p�eces to
the�r proper s�zes by el�m�nat�ng small ch�ps from hardwood surfaces dur�ng sh�pp�ng.
2) C�rcular saw: A c�rcular saw �s a power tool that rotates around an arbor wh�le cutt�ng
var�ous mater�als w�th a toothed or abras�ve d�sc or blade.
3) J�gsaw: A j�gsaw �s a saw that employs a rotat�ng blade to cut �rregular curves, l�ke
stenc�led patterns, �n wood, metal, or other mater�als.
4) Dr�ll: A type of cutt�ng tool w�th two cutt�ng blades, the dr�ll �s mostly used for counter-
s�nk�ng operat�ons and dr�ll�ng holes.
5) Gouge : A gouge �s a hand tool used to shape wood �n woodwork�ng. It can have d�ffe-
rent th�cknesses. The most often ut�l�zed methods are tree bark peel�ng and open�ng hollows
to jo�n two boards together.
6) Hand saw : In carpentry and woodwork�ng, p�eces of wood are shaped w�th hand saws,
also referred to as "panel saws."
7) Jo�ner's clamp: It �s a sort of v�ce w�th a screw clamp�ng mechan�sm that compresses the
workp�ece.

Day 4

Today, accompan�ed by Mr. Ata, I learned how to cut wooden p�eces �n pract�ce.
There are d�fferent cutt�ng forms ava�lable, angular and c�rcular. When cutt�ng a p�ece of
wood, we must follow these stages::
1) The appropr�ate saw should be selected for the job and then the place to be cut should be
marked.
2) The part to be can must be f�xed to the workbench w�th the help of jo�ner's clamp or w�th
a v�ce.
3) The per�meter of the cutt�ng s�te should be empty.
4) After mak�ng the cutt�ng mouth, the hand should be kept away from the saw mouth.
5) Attent�on should be pa�d espec�ally to the thumb aga�nst the danger of sl�pp�ng of the saw
dur�ng cutt�ng.
6) After the saw cut mouth �s opened, the cut should be made by apply�ng moderate force.
7) The force appl�ed towards the end of the cut and the length of movement of the saw blade
should be reduced.
8) In order for the workp�ece not to break, the bottom of the cut part should be supported
and gently plucked off.

On the f�fth day of my �nternsh�p, the project for the product�on of furn�ture to be
used �n the jun�or room was started. Mr. Ata asked me to des�gn a work desk f�rst as furn�tu-
re. F�rst of all, I exam�ned the wooden work desks on the market and d�d research. Later, I
made draw�ngs and started to the des�gn stage. I have f�nal�zed my des�gn based on form,
funct�onal�ty and product�on method.

Today, I rece�ved the render�ngs of the study table that I had made for the teen
room furn�ture project. In add�t�on to complet�ng the desk, I used a wooden cha�r. I shared
the render�ngs of the desk w�th Mr. Ata. The wooden desk des�gn was put on f�le w�th other
alternat�ves to be presented to the customer.

on of furn�ture to be used �n the teen room. Mr. Ata asked me to des�gn a m�n�mal wardrobe
�n accordance w�th the customer's w�shes. F�rst of all, I exam�ned the wooden cab�nets on
the market and d�d research. As a result of the research I have done, I have created a mood-
board to be �nsp�red. Later, I made draw�ngs and moved to the des�gn stage. I have f�nal�zed
my des�gn based on form, funct�onal�ty and product�on method.

on the market and d�d research. As a result of the research I have done, I have created a

Today, I cont�nued to exam�ne the products that w�ll be produced for the project
of the product�on of furn�ture that w�ll be used �n the teenage room. The next products to be
produced were the bed and consoles, separately. After rev�ew�ng the ex�st�ng products on
the market, I f�rst created a moodboard. Then, w�th the draw�ngs I made, I shared the �dea of
des�gn�ng a mult�funct�onal product that comb�nes bed, consoles and beds�de l�ghts w�th Mr
Ata. I have f�nal�zed my des�gn based on form, funct�onal�ty and product�on method.

Today, I rece�ved the render�ngs of the wooden bed set I made for the teen room

l�ghts on the headboard of the bed so that they stand at the top of the consoles. F�nally, I
shared the render�ngs of the bed w�th Mr. Ata. The wooden bed set des�gn was put on f�le
w�th other alternat�ves to be presented to the customer.

On the seventeenth day of my �nternsh�p, wooden flower pot des�gns were started
to be placed as decorat�ve objects next to the furn�tures �n the teen room. Mr. Ata asked me
to des�gn m�n�mal pots �n accordance w�th the customer's w�shes. F�rst of all, I exam�ned the
wooden flower pots on the market and d�d research. As a result of the research I have done,
I created a moodboard to get �nsp�rat�on. Later, I made draw�ngs and moved to the des�gn
stage. I have f�nal�zed my des�gn based on form, funct�onal�ty and product�on method.

completed and dec�ded to be presented to the customer among the alternat�ves.

Conclus�on

My �nternsh�p was related to the des�gn and product�on of wooden furn�ture


products. In th�s regard, I learned about how to des�gn and manufacture a wooden furn�ture.
I learned the tools and mach�nes that can be used dur�ng product�on �n the wood workshop.
I ga�ned new sk�lls by us�ng them. By closely exam�n�ng the deta�ls of the jo�nts of wooden
products, I have learned a lot about how the products are produced.
I des�gned new products by do�ng deta�led research on wood products. I have
deta�led these des�gns us�ng three-d�mens�onal model programm�ng.
