Integrated Grammar – This is a part of grammar section which includes editing, omission, gap filling,
rearranging jumbled sentences etc. It also tests the knowledge of active & passive voice, narration, articles
and the other determiners, modals, tense etc.

OMISSION - An omission is something that has not been included or has not been done, either
deliberately or accidentally. Omission is the act of not including a particular part of speech, tense
forms, sentence formation etc.
Eg. Read the following passage. There is one word missing in each line where a slash (/) has
been marked. Write the correct word in the space provided -
Man is basically / animal. The instinct of fighting is a) _________
inborn in him. Thirst for power/glory is a part of b) _________
his personality. / times, he behaves like a savage, c) _________
irrational beast. In spite of all claims / the modern d) _________

EDITING -The process of correcting and adapting a text, such as a paragraph or an


article. It is also a part of grammar section where the incorrect parts of speech,
tense forms etc are given and students have to correct those forms.
Eg. The following passage has not been edited. There is an error in each line against
which a numeral is given. Write the incorrect word and the correction in the space
provided. Remember to underline the word that you have supplied

REARRANGING JUMBLED SENTENCES – Jumbled sentences are some baffling sentences or words that must
be assembled in an appropriate succession to make it meaningful.
