A. PROGRAM / COURSE PROFILE

TITLE ENSURING EDUCATIONAL RESILIENCE: A COMPREHENSIVE
WORKSHOP ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND
MANAGEMENT (DRRM) CONTINGENCY PLANNING
Rationale In today's world, where natural and man-made disasters are
becoming increasingly frequent, it is essential for schools to be
prepared to respond effectively to these emergencies. This
comprehensive workshop on DRRM contingency planning aims to
equip school staff and administrators with the knowledge and skills
they need to create a safe and resilient learning environment for all
students.

Through interactive presentations, case studies, and hands-on

activities, participants will gain a deep understanding of DRRM
principles and the various phases of disaster management. They
will learn how to identify and assess risks, develop mitigation
strategies, and create comprehensive contingency plans tailored to
their school's specific needs and vulnerabilities.

This workshop emphasizes the importance of contingency planning

because no single approach can effectively address the diverse
range of disasters that schools may face. By developing well-
structured contingency plans, school staff and administrators can
proactively identify potential risks and ensure a coordinated and
effective response in the event of a disaster.
Program/Course This comprehensive workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and
Description Management (DRRM) contingency planning aims to empower the
School DRRM Taskforce with the knowledge, skills, and strategies
to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive
events. By equipping the taskforce with the necessary expertise,
the workshop will enable them to develop a comprehensive school
contingency plan tailored to the specific needs and vulnerabilities
of the school community. This proactive approach to disaster
preparedness is crucial for fostering educational resilience,
safeguarding the well-being of students, staff, and the entire school
community, and ensuring the uninterrupted continuity of learning
in the face of unforeseen disruptions.
