As a future educator, what is the best 21st century competency that suits you
and the present educational system?
As a future mathematics educator, there are several 21st-century competencies
that are essential for success in the present educational system.

Mathematics educators need to have a deep understanding of the mathematics they


are teaching. This includes not only knowing the formulas and procedures, but also
understanding the underlying concepts and principles. They need to be able to communicate
mathematical concepts clearly and effectively to their students. This includes using a variety of
instructional strategies, such as hands-on activities, technology, and real-world examples. they
must able to solve problems creatively and effectively. This includes the ability to identify
problems, analyze information, develop solutions, and evaluate results.

Next, they must have the ability to adapt their teaching to the needs of their students.
This includes differentiating instruction, providing scaffolding, and using a variety of assessment
methods. Mathematics educators need to be able to integrate technology into their teaching in
a way that enhances student learning. This includes using technology to provide students with
access to information, to simulate real-world experiences, and to provide feedbacks.

Lastly, they also need to be able to use data to inform their teaching. This includes tracking
student progress, identifying areas of need, and making adjustments to instruction accordingly.
