Admission form
Q1. How can I get Admission Form?
A. Application for the Undergraduate Admissions is available at Admission Web Portal
www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Q2. What are the minimum marks required for being considered for the admission?
A. Following table provides details of eligibility for admission:
For Bachelors of Engineering Programmes and BS (Computer Science) minimum 60% in
HSC or Equivalent Examinations is required. For all other BS Programmes minimum 55%
in HSC or Equivalent Examinations is required. Please see Chapter-4 of the Undergraduate
Prospectus for details. Following table illustrates the summary;

Q3. What is the merit for the admission?

A. The overall merit in respect of candidates form admission shall be determined on the basis
of Merit Score (MS) to be calculated as:

MS = 50% (HSC Part I/ O-level Marks/ Equivalent Examinations)* + 50% (NED Entry
Test Marks)
* For candidates already completed HSC/A-level/Equivalent examinations will be dealt
as per policy.

Q4. I have been appearing in additional mathematics / improvement examination, which


marks/year I have to enter in admission form?
A. You have t o enter the HSC/A-level/Equivalent examinations marks/year which you
have completed or for which you have the complete results in hand by the last date of
submission of the admission form.

Q5. What to do, if I am unable to register on Admission Web Portal? or e-mail address is
already registered? Or User Name and Password not received via email?
A. You have to re-check that either you have already registered with the same e-mail
address or CNIC number.
If you did not receive the login information, please check Junk or Spam folder in your
email. In both cases, please contact on Helpdesk to resolve the issue.

Q6. What to do, if I am unable to login with the provided User ID and Password to the
Admission Portal?
A. Make sure to enter the correct User ID and Password, since the password is case
sensitive. Also make sure the difference between “0” (zero) and “O” (O for orange), “L”
(L for Leaf) or “I” (I for Ink) which usually cause password error.
Q7. What if, I am unable to upload my photograph on the Admission Portal?
A. Please make sure that your photograph is according to the instructions provided in
“Guideline for the Application-photograph” and should meet the given requirements.
Q8. How can I pay Application Fee?
A. Following procedure is to be followed for the payment of the application fee:
i) After completing Online Application Form, required application fee (including self-
finance/sponsor fee, if applicable) shall be indicated on the Transaction Slip, which
contains an important number called Transaction ID.
ii) Take a Print-out of Transaction Slip and pay the indicated fee at any branch of the
banks specified on Transaction Slip.
iii) It is very important to note that the payment at the bank s h ou l d be against
the Transaction ID mentioned on the Transaction Slip.
Q9. How would I get my Pre-Admission Entry Test ADMIT CARD?
A. After confirmation of receipt of fee at the bank, ADMIT CARD will be available in the
Online Admission Portal, provided all other requirements (mainly photograph) found
suitable.
Q10. What to do after passing Pre-Admission Entry Test?
A. You are required to follow admission schedule and instructions given on it. For updates
kindly refer to NED University website: https://www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Q11. WhereAdmissionForm can be submitted?
A. You need to print out the Admission Form along with Annexures (I & II), duly signed
from Oath Commissioner and submit with other required documents to Admission
Office of the University at the time of interview. Please view the Document Checklist
for further details.
Q12. How can I apply for any additional category?
A. You can apply against any additional category which you are eligible for during initial
submission of online Form, latest by due date.
Note: Eligibility for admission under each category is as described in Chapter-5 of the
University Prospectus (Soft copy is available at NED University website).
Q13. Do I have to pay any fee for Additional category?
A. No, there is NO extra fee for applying in additional category(ies).
Q14. What are the requirements of admission in the category of differently able candidate?
A. For admission in category for those having disability (excluding the disability of deadness,
dumbness and blindness) and passed HSC (Pre-Engineering/Computer Science) part I and
II (as the case may be), from any Board of Intermediate of Education situated in province
of Sindh and having certificate of disability from Department of Empowerment of Persons
with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh. Further the candidate is required to appear
before the Medical Board at the University.
Q15. Are DAE holders eligible to apply for the admissions?
A. For admission in the category reserved for Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE), the
applicant must pass the qualifying examination from institution recognized by Sindh Board
of Technical Education (SBTE), with minimum 60%, during last three years.

Entry Test
Q1. What are the passing marks in Entry Tests?
A. 50% marks are required to qualify and become eligible for admission.
Q2. If I have passed SAT-I and SAT- II exam, would I be exempted from Entry Test?
A. Yes, provided that you have scored at least 800 in SAT-I and 1500 in SAT-II with subjects
of Physics, Chemistry/Computer Science and Mathematics/Biology. Candidate must
have to submit an application for the exemption to the Chairman Admission
Committee.
Q3. When would the Entry test be held?
A. Entry Test schedule will be available at www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Q4. When would Entry Test result be announced?
A. Pre Admission Entry test result will be announced after the last session of the computer-
based test and available on NEDUET website.

Q5. How many times a candidate may appear in the entry test?
A. Pre Admission Entry test will be held twice for admissions 2022. A candidate can appear
in both tests. Separate fee for each test is required to pay.

Q6. Which Pre-Admission Entry test score will be considered for the admission?
A. Among the two results, whichever is higher will be considered for the admission.

Q7. How much fee will be charged for the second attempt?
A. A fee of Rs. 2,000 will be charged for the second attempt.

Q8. What type of Pre Admission Entry Test is taken at NED UET?
A. Pre Admission Entry Test is multiple-choice questions and computer based test. There are
four sections in the test, each of 25 marks and comprising of contents depending upon the
subject you have chosen in your HSC and selected in the admission form. You have to
select the appropriate set of subjects, which you had taken in your HSC. Following table
illustrates the sections of the test.

Admission Schedule
Q1. When will the merit list be displayed?
A. Please see “Admission Schedule” available at www.neduet.edu.pk/admission.
Q2. What is the admission schedule?
A. Admission Schedule is a document with important dates for admissions & related
activities.
Tuition / Semester Fee
Q1. How much is the admission fee?
A. Admission Fee which is to be paid at the time of admission is as under:
i) Rs. 72,000/- for all engineering disciplines.
ii) Rs. 73,500/- for B.Arch.
iii) Rs. 72,000/- for all BS programmes except BS (Industrial Chemistry).
iv) Rs. 73,000/- for BS (Industrial Chemistry).
v) Rs. 77,000/- for BS programme at TIEST.

Q2. When do I have to pay Self Finance Fee?


A. Self-Finance fee has to be paid along with Application Fee in the same bank at the time of
submission of Application Form latest by the due date. For any updates please refer
website.
Q3. How much fees are charged against Self Finance or Self Sponsor?
B. Following are the fees;
a. Self-Finance Fee Rs. 775,000/-
b. Self-Finance (Sponsored Seats) Fee Rs. 975,000/-
c. Foreign Student Fee Rs. 975,000/-
Q4. What if I will get admission in Regular Scheme, would the self-finance amount be
refunded?
A. Yes, when you opt for Regular Seat, total self-finance fee will be refunded. For refund
you have to submit self-finance refund form (available at website) with all relevant
documents.
Q5. Does Self-finance fee include tuition fee?
A. No, it does not. Self-finance fee is to be paid once only at the time of admission form
submission.
Q6. What is the fee refund policy?

Q7. What is the fee refund policy for the Self-finance/Self-Sponsor cases?

A. Any student after being admitted under self-finance category requests for cancellation of
admission shall have refund of his/her self-finance fee dealt as under:
i. In case of applying for cancellation of admission and refund of fee before
commencement of classes shall have all self-finance fee refunded.
ii. In case of applying for cancellation of admission after commencement of classes shall
have I0% of self-finance amount deducted and the rest is refunded.

Admission Requirements
Q1. What documents are required during Medical Fitness Test?
A. You are required to bring Admission form along with all the documents mentioned in
the documents checklist.
Q2. Do I have to bring any other document on the Admission Day?
A. No, you are required to bring your Admit Card of the Entry Test and Admission Fee as
mentioned in admission schedule.
Q3. Can I pay the admission fee after taking the admission?
A. You will not be admitted unless the admission fee is paid on the day of
interview/admission. The admission fee may in the form of cash or pay order/demand
draft in favor of Director Finance, NEDUET.
Q4. Can anyone having HSC Pre-Medical, apply for only Bio-Engineering programme?
A. Please refer to Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 of Undergraduate Prospectus.
Q5. Can anyone having passed HSC Commerce examination apply for admission?
A. Please refer to Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 of Undergraduate Prospectus.

Q6. Can anyone having passed HSC Pre-Engineering examination with Physics, Mathematics
and Computer Science eligible for admission?
A. Please refer to Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 of Undergraduate Prospectus.

Miscellaneous
Q1. Where Bachelor of Architecture and BS Development Studies classes are held?
A. Classes for Bachelor of Architecture and BS Development Studies are held at City
Campus which is adjacent to Govt. DJ Science College.
Bio-Medical Engineering and Food Engineering classes are held at LEJ Campus
situated opposite to Liaquat National Hospital.
Q2. Is there any Shuttle Bus Service available for City Campus and LEJ Campus?
A. Some of the shuttle buses pass in front of these campuses. Details will be provided on
the day of orientation.
Q3. What is the duration of degree programmes offered by the University?
A. All programmes are of four years duration except of Bachelors in Architecture which is of
five years duration.
