Recount text

 Definition of recount text


Recount text is a text that telling the reader about one story, action or
activity. Its goal is to entertaining or informing the reader.

 Social function
1. To tell experiences in which the writer was personally
involved.
2. To inform the readers by telling the pas events historically and
achievements in a person’s life.
3. To chronicle past events regarded as historically significant.

 Recount text is divided into theree


1. Personal recount
tells about the author's personal experience.
2. Biography
tells the life story of a character.
3. Factual recount
reports related to events that occurred based on facts.
4. History recount
tells a historical story that happened in the past.

 Generic structure of recount text


1. orientation
This section is the opening part the text or introduction
that contains the background of an incident, such as who
was involved, or when and where there the incident
occurred.
2. Events
This section is part of the content of the text that contains a
series of sequential events experienced by the author.
3. Re-orientation
This section is the closing of the text which contains
conclusions, massages, impressions, or feelings of the
author on the events experienced.

Orientation
Jendral Sudirman was a high ranking Indonesian military
officer during the Indonesian national revolution. He was the
first commander-in-chief of the Indonesian armed forces. He
continued to be widely respected in the country.

Events
On 12 November 1945, at an election to decide the military’s
commeander-in-chief in Yogyakarta. The 24 years old
Sudirman wall chosen over Oerip Soemohardjo in a close
vote. While waiting to be confirmed, Sudirman ordered an
assault on british and dutch forces in ambarawa. The ensuing
battle and british withdrawal strengthened Sudirman’s popular
support, and he was ultimately confirmed on 18 December,
jendral Sudirman commanded military activities throughout
java, including a show of force in Yogyakarta on 1 march
1949. When the dutch began withdrawing. In July 1949
Sudirman was recalled to Yogyakarta and forbidden to fight
further.

Re-orientation
In late 1949 Sudirman’s tuberculosis returned, and he retired
to Magelang, where he died slightly more than a month after
the dutch recognized Indonesia’s independence. He was buried
at semaki heroes’ cemetery in Yogyakarta.
