SBP e-NEWS

Wonderful start to our Year!

We have so enjoyed getting to know you and the children. Our halls were instantly turned into a virtual SBP Family Album as pictures of the children and their families were displayed. Thank you for assisting us in making this a smooth transition in the new school year. It is amazing how quickly the children have begun to settle into their classroom routines. However, there is nothing routine about all of the learning that is taking place. Be sure to stay informed with the Weekly Classroom Notes from your child s teacher.

Childrens Worship - Every First Wednesday!

All classes will gather in our sanctuary the first Wednesday of each month to hear a simple bible message from Pastor Tim and to sing songs we have learned during our music time with Mrs. Hobbs. What a special time this is for us! We begin at 9:10, so please make every effort to be on time. If for some reason you are delayed, please remain in the classroom with your child until we return around 9:25. As we worship and thank God for his goodness, we want to give the children the opportunity to share and learn about helping others. We ask that your child bring a non-perishable food item which will be placed in our church food bank and distributed to those in need within our community.

A Pumpkin Pickin We Go!

We will visit Darden s Farm to have a hay load of fun and to pick a pumpkin! The 2 s &3 s will go on Thursday, Oct. 13, and our 4 s & 5 s will go on Wednesday, Oct. 12. ( A different outing is being planned for our kindergartners ) . Directions to the farm will be posted on our bulletin board. We will meet there at 9:30. Our kindergartners have now completed their PALS ( Phonological Awareness and Literacy Screening ) Assessments for the fall. As they enter in the mornings, they are eager to show their completed homework even before continuing to their classroom! Assessments will begin in October for our Pre-K Fours and Fives.

FALL FESTIVAL
On Oct. 27 we invite you to join us in a Fall Celebration which begins with our annual costumed parade and sing along. Please bring your child in his/her costume with a change of clothing. The festivities will begin at 9:15 as the children parade around our church grounds. We will start on the playground side and walk along the front of our building and then gather in our FLC to share a few songs. We will then proceed outside for a fun morning of carnival-like games. Dana Johnston will be coordinating this event with our parent volunteers. You will not want to miss this treat ! Bring your cameras! ( S pecial note: Mrs. Babyak s class will meet on this day in lieu of meeting on Friday ) .
