Weekly Assessment: Circles: Chords, Arcs and Central Angles

I. Direction: In your answer sheet, write TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if it is
not.

1. Two angles intercepting the same arc are congruent.

2. An inscribed square in a circle separates the circle into four equal arcs.
3. The measure of a central angle is twice the measure of an inscribed angle intercepting the
same arc.
4. An arc has only one central angle intercepting it but several intercepting inscribed angles.
5. The vertex of an inscribed angle is the center of the circle.
6. When two chords intersect, they intersect at the center of the circle.
7. When two diameters intersect, they intersect at the center of the circle.
8. When two chords intersect at any point on the circle, an inscribed angle is formed.
9. When two chords intersect, the point of intersection is in the interior of the circle.
10. When two tangents intersect at the exterior of the circle, the intercepted arcs complete a
circle.

II. Direction: Identify what is asked on the following.

11. A chord that passes through the center of a circle.

12. A segment that joins the center of a circle to any point on the circle.
13. These are the arcs of the sane circle or congruent circle with equal measures.
14. An angle formed by two rays whose vertex is the center of the circle.
15. An arc of the circle that measures less than a semicircle.
16. The measures of an arc formed by two adjacent arcs is the sum of the measures of the two
arcs.
17. The region bounded by an arc of the circle and the two radii to the endpoints of the arc.
18. The sum of the measures of the central angles of a circle with no common interior points.
19. The region bounded by an arc and the segment joining its endpoints.
20. The measure of a semicircle.

III. Direction: Show the solution for the following given.

21-26. Sector of a Circle 27-30. What is central angle in the given figure and its
intercepted arc?
Which is the inscribed angle and its intercepted arc?
