9. DESCRIPTION/COMPONENTS/ACTIVITIES

A teacher with the right skills inspires and as well as influences the entire
student’s lives because they are the instruments that can ignite powerful thoughts in
students.

“Literacy is one of the most fundamental skills a child can learn. Reading is the

foundation for all academic learning. Learning to read, write and count is crucial to a

child’s success in school and in later life. Literacy improvement is one of the priorities

of the Department of Education (DepEd). The said activity will be in support for the

Year 2 -8 Week Recovery Program.

DepEd Regional Gilbert T. Sadsad explained that the crafting of DepEd Bicol’s

Learning Recovery Plan ( LRP- 8- Week Curriculum ) by improving instruction

through sustainable evidence based Learning Programs, he added that the main goal

for crafting of the said LRP is not only to bring all the learners back to school but to

organize effective remedial learning, support learners well -being, train teachers, fill

digital devices and equip the young learners with the skills that they need to learn,

which are the key factors to help the learning loss during the pandemic.
