1. GENERAL INFORMATION

OPTIMA UVIS-100 systems are designed with advanced security technology to scan and
inspect underside of all types of vehicles. These systems are used especially for entrances where
there is a threat of suicide vehicle attack with explosives or for the entrances that have very high
security requirements like army, industrial, governmental and commercial buildings, sites, complexes
etc.
UVIS-100 under vehicle inspection system provides users needed safe area, thereby
capturing and monitoring underside image of the vehicles with a high-resolution auto digital area
scanning camera. In addition, the system specifies suspicious objects after scan process and takes
them on the monitoring screen. The system is able to handle vehicle moving at speed from 0-50
km/hr and can perform bidirectional scanning from both directions.
Thanks to system’s advanced electronics, many types of security systems such as road
bollards, road blockers, barriers etc. or plate recognition systems can be integrated to OPTİMA UVIS-
100. Optima Plate Recognition Systems read and store vehicle plates “with” undercarriage image of
UVIS system which provides retrieve and search to compare with previous images.
User interface of the software is very friendly and useful for operators. Web interface allows
to monitor recorded informations from anywhere in the world.

5. MAINTENANCE

 Cabinet and Equipment Cleaning

Environmental conditions like dust, humidity affect working and expected life of the system
negatively. So, cabinet and equipment which is exposed to dust, can be cleaned with pressure air for
removing dust. Users should avoid from any damages on the mechanical and electronical parts
during cleaning.

Equipment cleaning should be made in every two weeks.

Before the cleaning, make sure to disconnect the system from the source of electricity.

 Cable Connection Point Checks

In the UVIS systems, deformations on the cables at the time of installation can cause short cable
life. In situations like this, conducting wires can cause short circuit or can break in time.
In the maintenance time, connection points of cables should be controlled to prevent loose
connection in every six month.

 Plate Recognition Camera Stand Check

Connection points of hinges should be checked. In case of necessity, fix loose connection.
Otherwise, view point of the camera can be changed and If these is any break on the material, it
should be replaced with new one. Check camera stand in every month.

 Plate Recognition Camera Functionality Check

Plate recognition camera should recognize and transfer plate information to the computer
display correctly. Check its performance and functionality daily.

 UVSS Camera Functionality Check

Check scanning image when the vehicle drive through from scanner. Check its performance and
functionality daily.

 Housing Check and Cleaning

Housing should be non-damaged. Otherwise, it will be affected by weather conditions. If there

are cracks on the housing, it should be replaced with new ones. Check the camera housing in once in
6 months.

Housing should be cleaned from outside with a damp cloth in every two weeks. Please, be careful
during cleaning; don’t change viewing point of the camera.

 Plate Recognition Camera IR Led Lights Check

IR LEDs provide required lights to IR camera for recording in the dark. So, user should check
functionality of IR led lights daily.

28 www.optima.tc
ISO 9001: 2015
 Under Vehicle Inspection System Light Source Check

LED light source should activate automatically during passage of vehicles. After underside of the
vehicle is scanned, it should be deactivated. Check functionality of LED light source daily.

 Master Control Machine Check

Power on system and check working of computer and windows daily.

Check the hard disk functionality of computer system daily. Make sure that information which
have been stored and reported can be accessible.

Check PCB board daily. If PCB board is working normally, green led indicator should be active.

 Temperature Sensor Control

There is a LCD screen on it. This display should show temperature rating. Check this sensor
functionality daily.

 Sensor Coil Circle Control

Green LED will be ‘ON’ if it is working properly. Daily control is needed.

 Image Quality Control

Images should be transferred clearly in daytime and nights. So, check image quality and
resolution which is transferred to computer system daily.

 Damaged Equipment Control

If there is any damaged components or exposed to corrosion, replace it with the new one. The
relevant parameters should be adjusted by engineer before usage.

 System Software Control

Click control software, log into normally. Inspect the software functionality daily.

 Suggestion for Whole System

Power off the system once in every two weeks for 30 min.

 Electrical Control

In order to ensure good electrical performance, ensure that electrical voltage in the 220-240 VAC
range.
