Transistor

The invention of the transistor in

1947 revolutionized the field of
electronics and computing. It is an
important component of many
electronic devices such as telephones
and computers.Transistors made it
possible for the first time to have
smaller and more cheaply-produced
electronic goods, and helped pave the
way for the development of the
computer.
Microchip
The invention of the microchip in 1959 by Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce was a
significant advancement in the field of electronics and computing The microchip, also
known as an integrated circuit, is a semiconductor device that contains electronic
circuits on a small piece of silicon . The development of the microchip paved the way
for the creation of smaller, faster, and more powerful electronic devices such as
computers, phones, and other digital products . Today, microchips are used in a wide
range of applications, from consumer electronics to medical devices .It’s amazing to
think about how much the world has changed since the invention of the microchip.
Thanks to this innovation, we can now carry powerful computers in our pockets and
access information from anywhere in the world. Truly, the microchip has
revolutionized the way we live our lives.
Television
The development of television technology during the early stages of the
20th century was a significant advancement in communication and
entertainment . The concept of television is the work of many individuals
in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The first practical
transmissions of moving images over a radio system used mechanical
rotating perforated disks to scan a scene into a time-varying signal that
could be reconstructed at a receiver back into an approximation of the
original image . The development of television was interrupted by the
Second World War. After the end of the war, all-electronic methods of
scanning and displaying images became standard. Television broadcasting
expanded rapidly after World War II, becoming an important mass
medium for advertising, propaganda, and entertainment . Today, one will
hardly find a home without a television set.
DNA structure

In 1953, James Watson and Francis Crick published a paper in the

journal Nature describing the double helix structure of DNA . This
discovery revolutionized the field of genetics and has had a profound
impact on our understanding of life and evolution.

It is also used in paternity testing, to establish immigration

eligibility, and in genealogical and medical research . DNA profiling has
also been used in the study of animal and plant populations in the
fields of zoology, botany, and agriculture and crime.
The moon landing
The Moon Landing is one of the most significant scientific
achievements of the 20th century. On July 20, 1969,
American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz”
Aldrin became the first humans ever to land on the moon.
About six-and-a-half hours later, Armstrong became the
first person to walk on the moon. As he took his first step,
Armstrong famously said, “That’s one small step for man,
one giant leap for mankind.” The Apollo 11 mission
occurred eight years after President John F. Kennedy
announced a national goal of landing a man on the moon
by the end of the 1960.
If I were to rank these advancements in order of importance, I would place the transistor at the top of the
list. The transistor made a profound impact on the field of electronics and computing, and has paved the
way for many other technological advancements.

Microchip for second because they are used in a wide range of applications, from consumer electronics to
medical devices and beyond.

Television would come in third, as it has had a significant impact on communication and entertainment.

DNA profiling would be the fourth one, because as it has had a significant impact in medical research.

The Moon landing would be fifth , as it has expanded our knowledge of the universe and has inspired
generations of scientists and explorers, but this is not help our society immediately today.
