IV. Procedures
1. Introductory Activities (5 minutes).

2. Activity/ Strategy (7 minutes).


To arouse interest and curiosity among the students, which will lead them to
further involvement, the teacher will provide a video presentation for the
students that will help them be prepared for the new topic.

3. Analysis (3 minutes).
After the activity, the teacher will ask the students the following questions:
1. Based on the video presentation, what do you think is the speech all about?
2. What do you observe about the speaker?
3. What else do you observe from the speaker, did he/she move around?
4. What do you think is our lesson for today?

4. Abstraction (20 minutes).


The teacher will explain to the class that the previous activity was all about the
prosodic features of speech. Then, the prosodic features of speech and their
usage as well as the entertainment speech will be discussed through a video and
PowerPoint presentation.

Follow-up Questions:
1. Why is it important to know what prosodic features of speech are and how
to use it an entertainment speech.
2. How can prosodic features of speech affect the delivery of an entertainment
speech?
3. Why are entertainment speech important?

5. Application (5 minutes)
To promote the acquisition of knowledge and familiarize students with new
concepts, the teacher will give them a practice activity, which there will be two
teams the right wing and the left wing. They then will have representatives to
read the prepared short prompt speech applying the prosodic features of speech.

6. Assessment (15 minutes)


To determine whether students have learned what they were expected to learn
and unto what degree they have learned the lesson they have been taught, the
teacher will provide an assessment in which the students will incorporate their
knowledge and understanding of the proper use of the prosodic features of
speech when delivering an entertainment speech. In this assessment, the teacher
will choose a representative to read the prepared entertainment speech and the
remaining students will rate them based on the given rubrics. They have to use
the prosodic features of speech. They will be graded according to the rubric.

Instruction: While your classmate reads the short entertainment speech, observe
his/her delivery, if he/she applies the prosodic features of speech. Use the
rubrics in in rating.
