1.0 SCOPE

To carry out all Electrical Minor CM Activities & Complaints, Breaker reset, Power complaints,
Replacement of Lights, trouble shooting on Electrical systems, isolations, Lighting control system,
LV systems, Visual Inspection etc. activities of all electrical equipment’s including SMDB, DB, Feeder
Pillars, MCC panels etc.
.

2.0 ROLE AND RESPONSIBILTY

HSE Engineer /officer executions, tools inspection, work area and environment
inspection etc.

steps of work given in the MS.
Man-power assistance to workforce in the execution of
Helpers
works as per the steps of work given in MS

3.0 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS


All personnel will have PPE required for their specific tasks in addition to the minimum PPE
(coveralls, safety goggles, safety shoes, hard hat, high-visibility vests, gloves) at site always as
required.
All personnel will go through the TDGISERV Safety Induction prior to enter the site.
A Toolbox talk Safety Meeting will be conducted before commencing work.
A risk assessment addresses the hazards associated with each task within the scope of this Method
Statement and introduces the controls that will be implemented to reduce the associated risks to
acceptable levels attach along MS. The Risk Assessment will be used by the Site Supervisor as the
basis of his pre-task meetings and Toolbox Talks.

In the event of an emergency, employees will secure their area and evacuate to the nearest muster point.
Once all employees are evacuated the supervisor will conduct a headcount to verify all employees are
out of danger. The supervisor will report this to Contractor Emergency Contact numbers.

• As per complaint received for CM tasks and based on the PPM schedule.

8.0 STEPS OF WORK

1. Coordinate with the operations /focal point/relevant disciplines.

2. Ensure that PTW is available with valid date.

3. Visual inspection to be conducted.

4. All the minor electrical rectification/replacement (lamps, sockets, switches minor adjustments
etc) and other aspects to be carried out.

5. Assembling the spare parts will be done as per standards.

6. Electrical isolations and parts replacement for the electrical equipment to be carried out with
QU approval.

7. carry out all Electrical Minor CM Activities & Complaints, Breaker reset, Power complaints,
Replacement of Lights, trouble shooting on Electrical systems, isolations, Lighting control
system, LV systems, Visual Inspection etc. activities of all electrical equipment’s including
SMDB, DB, Feeder Pillars, MCC panels etc.
8. Restoring the systems to normal operation and condition after completion of the works.

9. Clean and ensure proper housekeeping after completion of the works.

10. Report to operations the conclusion of the works.

HIGH-LEVEL LIGHTS REPLACEMENT

1. All personnel shall be wearing appropriate PPE.

2. Barricades shall be installed in the perimeter of work.

3. Ensure proper and safe work method (Ladder or scaffolding) using for operation

4. All the tools shall be kept away from walkway and shall be kept away from falling from the
manlift, scaffolding, ladder.

5. The tools used shall be with safety lanyard, if required. (To prevent falling tools down)

6. The working lamp and faulty lamps shall be identified and marked.

7. Ensure that electric supply to light fitting has been locked out/tagged out.

8. Faulty lamp fitting shall be opened, and faulty lamps shall be replaced with new.

9. Faulty lamps shall be safely kept in original packing (Packing of new lamps).

10. The above activities shall be recurring for replacing other faulty lamps.

11. After replacement of faulty lamps, the circuit shall be reinstated and the LOTO tag removed.

TROUBLE SHOOTING FOR ELECTRICAL PANELS /DB/SMDB/MOTORS/PUMPS

12. Coordinate with end user on the effect of troubleshooting of the panel.

13. Isolate and disconnect the upstream circuit for the panels

14. Install Isolation tag with padlock.

15. Carryout insulation test on the cables.

16. Carryout insulation test if needed

17. Check control panel for any abnormality.

18. Check and troubleshoot any defective component or parts.

19. Check and confirm all control cable are properly secured.

20. Check and confirm control power supply is available and ok.

21. Check MCCB/MCB/fuse/isolators are ok. Else replace if found defective.

22. Check input power supply and confirm its ok.

23. De-isolate the power supply.

24. Close the MCCB/MCB/fuse/isolators and confirm the panel is energised.

25. Check and confirm all the control component are functional.

26. Simulate the pump and confirm its functional.

27. Check and confirm the pump is functional and in the correct direction.

28. Carryout housekeeping around the area of work.

29. Inform operation on the completion of the troubleshooting.

TROUBLE SHOOTING FOR MCCB

1. Communicate operation on the checks and rectification activity.

2. Put the control selector switch to local mode if available.

3. Open the DB, MCCB cabinet.

4. Isolate and lockout the MCCB.

5. Rack out the MCCB from the cabinet.

6. Checks functionality and rectify any abnormality noted.

7. Repair and parts replacement of MCCB if required.

8. Check and confirm functionality after repairs.

9. Confirm all terminals are cleaned.

10. Rack in the MCCB and test operational functionality.

11. Carryout housekeeping in work area.
