1.0 SCOPE
To carry out the Welding works for Calorifier to rectify the water leakage

2. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILTY

MS following all safety requisitions.
Responsible for team’s HSE aspects at site, safe job
HSE Engineer /officer executions, tools inspection, work area and environment
inspection etc.
In-charge for the hands-in execution of works as per the
Technician
steps of work given in the MS.
Man-power assistance to workforce in the execution of
Helpers
works as per the steps of work given in MS

3.0 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS


Obtain QU-Confined Space Entry PTW. Obtain authorizations from concerned departments. All
personnel will have PPE required for their specific tasks in addition to the minimum PPE (coveralls,
safety goggles, safety shoes, hard hat, high-visibility vests, Welding gloves) at site always as required.
Confined space entry log to be maintained and all entrants and hole watcher should be third party
certified. Continuous atmospheric monitoring to be conducted with calibrated multi-Gas tester. Positive
ventilation to be provided, fume extractor arrangement to be done as required. Proper lighting and
access/egress to be ensured. Fully charged Fire Extinguisher and First Aid provisions to be ensured.
A Toolbox talk Safety Meeting will be conducted before commencing work.
A risk assessment addresses the hazards associated with each task within the scope of this Method
Statement and introduces the controls that will be implemented to reduce the associated risks to
acceptable levels attach along MS. The Risk Assessment will be used by the Site Supervisor as the basis
of his pre-task meetings and Toolbox Talks. Gas Testing & Continuous monitoring to be in place.

In the event of an emergency, employees will secure their area and evacuate to the nearest muster point.
Once all employees are evacuated the supervisor will conduct a headcount to verify all employees are
out of danger. The supervisor will report this to Contractor Emergency Contact numbers and 3999.

8.0 STEPS OF WORK

1. Coordinate with the operations / focal point / relevant disciplines.


2. Ensure that PTW (Hotwork and Confined Space Entry) is available with valid date.
3. Confirmation with QU will be taken before performing the works at site
4. Services Isolation needs to be taken as per requirement.
5. TBT will be conducted regarding the work and hazards related with the work
6. Scaffolding will be erected if required.
7. Positive ventilation to be provided.
8. Gas Test to be done by authorized Gas Tester and continuous gas monitoring required.
9. Area around of work location to be barricaded and warning signages will be provided.
10. Water line to be isolated.
11. Retrieval line to be arranged for Rescue, if required.
12. Ensure fire extinguishers are available at site
13. Drain the water from calorifier and dry the unit for welding
14. Ensure welder having Third party certificate to perform the job
15. Conduct the welding as per requirement and with proper safety measures
16. After welding ,do the necessary tests to ensure the healthiness of system
17. After completion of job do proper housekeeping and ensure area is clean and removed all dust,
tools from location
18. Deenergise system and ensure all equipment’s working as usual.

19. Remove barricading, warning tapes from location

20. Submit all required reports to client for review and records.
