1. As a future ECE Teacher, why are health records


important in early childhood education?

As a future ECE teacher, Health records are


important in early childhood education in order to track the
health condition of the children. Accurate records is
important to provide quality and protecting the health of
children in school. Health records can help us teacher to
identify preventive health needs of our learners.

A teacher should also be healthy, that no other ailment or


sickness that will affect a learner’s health too. In the Deped
yearly physical and mental check up examination to keep
the tracking records of being healthy.

2. When to conduct a daily health check?

Every day, teacher should conduct a health check of each


child to ensure the safety and well being of the children.
This health check should be conducted as soon as
possible after the child enters the school or center and
before the parents or guardian leaves. They may also be
conducted at any other time of the day if there is a
noticeable change in the child’s appearance or behavior.
Checking the health of the students on the daily basis can
help prevent the spread of illness in other students and
teachers especially during flu season.
3. Visit a day care center and ask for a sample of ECCD checklist. Take a
picture of the checklist and a picture of you together with the teacher as
evidence. Attach the picture when you pass the activity.
