Learning Targets UPCOMING EVENTS

✓ I can read and spell the sight words “by”,
“are”.
✓ I can practice identifying beginning blends
in words I hear, thinking of words with
blends, and writing words with blends. We
focused on “l” blends this week (flag, slush,
class).
✓ I can practice using adjectives.
✓ I can plan a story! Students filled out a
story map to help plan their weather
stories including main character, setting,
and events.
✓ I can write a weather story! These stories
with be completed next week.
✓ I can write addition and subtraction
equations.
✓ I can practice making fact families.
✓ I can make symmetrical mittens.
✓ I can make a season wheel and describe
characteristics of each season.
✓ I can tell you about ways to stay safe! Ask
me about my third Safety Smarts
presentation.
Ask me about the Skydome Planetarium
assembly!
Next week our sight words will be
“with”, “will”. We’ll learn about “ing” words.
In writing we will complete our weather
stories.
In math we will continue in Topic 8 which
reviews addition and subtraction.
We will finish our Mystery Science unit
called Circle of Seasons and begin a Mystery
Science unit called Sunlight and Warmth.

see note in Friday folder.
• Valentine Party-Feb. 14th 2:30-3:15.
