Important Note
This transceiver was assembled using Pb (lead) free sol-
der, based on the RoHS specification.
Only lead-free solder (Alloy Composition: Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu)
should be used for repairs performed on this apparatus.
The solder stated above utilizes the alloy composition re-
quired for compliance with the lead-free specification, and
any solder with the above alloy composition may be used.

RF Front-end Tuning
1. Inject a 145.100 MHz signal at a level of -9.0 dBμV (with 1kHz M-ADJ
modulation ± 3.5 kHz deviation) from the RF signal generator.
2. Set the transceiver frequency to 145.100 MHz.
3. Press the [P1] key of the Microphone to set the alignment menu
Item to "ADJUST 01 -TUNE- -A-". 145.100
4. Adjust the DIAL knob (Band B) for minimum deflection on the
ADJUST 01 -TUNE-
SINAD meter (maximum receiving sensitivity).

5. Inject a 435.100 MHz signal at a level of -9.0 dBμV (with 1kHz M-ADJ
modulation ± 3.5 kHz deviation) from the RF signal generator.
6. Set the transceiver frequency to 435.100 MHz.
7. Press the [P2] key of the Microphone to set the alignment menu
Item to "ADJUST 01 -TUNE- -B-". 435.100
8. Adjust the DIAL knob (Band B) for minimum deflection on the
ADJUST 01 -TUNE-

S-Meter Calibration
1. Set the RF signal generator to 145.100 MHz. Set the generator M-ADJ
for ±3.5 kHz deviation of a 1 kHz modulation tone, and set the
RF output level from the signal generator to -3.0 dBμV.
2. Set the transceiver frequency to 145.100 MHz.
3. Press the [D(X)] key to select "FM". 145.100
4. Press the [P1] key of the Microphone to set the alignment menu

6. Increase the output level of the signal generator up to +23.0 dBμV.
7. Press the [P3] key to save the new setting.
8. Inject a 435.100 MHz signal at a level of -3.0 dBμV (with 1kHz M-ADJ
modulation ± 3.5 kHz deviation) from the RF signal generator.
9. Set the transceiver frequency to 435.100 MHz.
10. Press the [P2] key of the Microphone to set the alignment menu
Item to "ADJUST 06 -SMETER- -B-". 435.100
11. Press the [P4] key to save the new setting.

NOTE: Do not adjust the “TXDRIVE” alignment menu item. If the
“ADJUST 02 -TXDRIVE-” is displayed, press the [P2] key of the Mi-
crophone to display “ADJUST 02 -POWER-”.
VHF LOW POWER ADJUST 02 -POWER-
2. Set the transceiver frequency to 146.000 MHz. xxH
3. Press the [F(SETUP)] key
4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [FUNCTION], then press the
DIAL knob.
5. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [TXPWR].
6. Press the DIAL knob to select "LO", then press the [DISP] key.
7. Press the [DISP] key.
8. Press the PTT switch to activate the transmitter, adjust the DIAL
knob (Band B) so that RF Power Meter reading is 5 W (± 0.6 W).
VHF MID POWER
9. Press the [F(SETUP)] key
10. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [FUNCTION], then press the
DIAL knob.
11. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [TXPWR].
12. Press the DIAL knob to select "MD", then press the [DISP] key.
13. Press the PTT switch to activate the transmitter, adjust the DIAL
knob (Band B) so that RF Power Meter reading is 25 W (± 1.5 W).
VHF HI POWER
14. Press the [F(SETUP)] key
15. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [FUNCTION], then press the
DIAL knob.
16. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the [TXPWR].
17. Press the DIAL knob to select "HI", then press the [DISP] key.
18. Press the PTT switch to activate the transmitter, adjust the DIAL
knob (Band B) so that RF Power Meter reading is 50 W (± 1.5 W).
CTCSS TX Deviation
1. Set the LPF of the Deviation Meter to 3.0 kHz. M-ADJ
2. Set the transceiver frequency to 146.000 MHz.
3. Press the [D(X)] key to select "FM".
4. Press the [P1] key of the Microphone to set the alignment menu
Item to "ADJUST 05 -CTCSS DEV-". 146.000
5. Press the PTT switch to activate the transmitter, adjust the DIAL
ADJUST 05 -CTCSS DEV-
knob (Band B) so that the Deviation Meter reading is 0.65 kHz
xxH
(±0.1 kHz).
13.8V P3KEY
NOTE: Do not change the “ADJUST 09 - DSP -” alignment menu item.
When the adjustment is complete, press and hold the power switch to turn the transceiver OFF.
