EXERCISES1
Exercise 2
Exercise.1:
In the magnetic circuit detailed in Figure 1 with all dimensions in mm,
a) Draw the electrical equivalence of the below magnetic circuit.
b) calculate the required current to be passed in the coil having 300
turns in order to establish a flux of 3 mWb in the air gap. Neglect
fringing effect and leakage flux. The B-H curve of the material is
given in Figure 2. Permeability of air may be taken as, μ0 = 4π × 10-
7
H/m
c) Determinate the inductance of the coil .
Fig : 1. magnetic circuit.

PQ = QR = UT = TS = 200mm
PU = QT = RS = 300mm
QM = WT
Lg = MW = 0.12 mm
A = 0.003 m2
Exercise .2: For the magnetic circuit shown in figure 21.20 the reluctance
of the central limb (PS) is 10 × 105 AT/Wb and the reluctance of the
outer limbs (PTS and PQS) are same and equal to 15 × 105 AT/ Wb. To
produce 0.5 mWb in PQS,
Calculate mmf to be produced by the coil .
