To whom it may concern,

My name is Passion Truss a resident at Citrus Square. My address is 4189 Lillian Ct. Orlando, Florida
32822. On December 28th, 2023, I was scheduled and attended a meeting at 12pm in the leasing office
with a representative from corporate and the leasing office manager. In this meeting I was informed that
my lease was being terminated 30 days from the receipt of noncompliance for receiving more than 3
complaints in a 12 month time frame. I am writing to you on this day to appeal the decision of lease
termination due to the recent homeless crisis in the city of Orlando and the lack of funds to help with
move in cist and rental assistance I am unprepared to move out in short notice with my 4 kids and we
will be faced with being homeless. Also, I was unaware that we could only receive 3 complaints because
in the 10 years I’ve been on public assistance I have never received a complaint and in the 6 years I have
live as a resident of citrus square the complaints and allegations made against me from my neighbor at
4199 Lillian ct. have been filed in a malicious way to get me removed from the property. From the first
complaint and every complaint received there after I have done my very best within reason and my
financial ability to do so to comply with the pet policy of citrus square apartments. In February when I
was notified of the first compliant, I was ordered to get rid of my animal no other options which is unfair
my dog meet the requirements for the pet policy in the complex so I asked what were my other options I
was then advised that I could pay a fee of $150 to add my pet to my lease so that he may reside in my
unit. I then went and got a money order and paid the pet fee to the leasing office. At this time this
resident made several complaints on other residents who she no longer gets along with, in an attempt to
have our pets removed from our home. When this tactic did not work, she proceeded to make several
more complaints in a malicious attempt to have my pet removed and or me removed by using
surveillance footage attached to the outside dwelling of her unit to submit to the office anytime my dog
runs out of the home. It is my understanding that we are not allowed to have cameras attached to our
unit and I advised her on several occasions that I do not give her permission to record or use video
surveillance of me or any resident/ visitor in my home on many occasions. I have purchased several
leashes and done the very best that I can within what I can control when I’m at home to contain my
animal, but we are human, and I can’t control every situation. I also advised that my screen door is
broken and, on many occasions, when I open my door my pet slips right by me. When this happens, I
attempt to get him back inside I even get help from my neighbors to get him back inside for fear that
another complaint will be filed. My dog has never bitten a resident or guest or personnel. He is not an
immediate threat to this community. He is up to date on all vaccines and is a registered pet and falls
within the guidelines of the pet policy. On the other hand, the resident has a dog that exceeds the
weight limit and, on several occasions, viciously barks and has gotten loose and chased my daughter
almost biting her had she not jumped on top of a green tank because he is too big for the owner to
control. I am not one to waist my time and file complaints all day every day for one I am a person of
integrity and would never intentionally file complaints to have someone put out in the streets, I feel that
things can be rectified by having a simple conversation and communicating effectively and I can live and
be in the same place where I’m disliked without a care in the world because I’m an adult who knows self-
control. This resident is miserable and lonely with too much time on her hand I work every day and I’m
barely home for the most part because I’m out trying to make a living for my 4 kids as I am a single
mother. I am not a threat nor is my animal a threat. I have not placed any one in immediate danger or
caused harm to anyone and neither has any of my resident’s guest or pets. And for this reason I am
submitting this letter of appeal to continue my lease and have all complaints in my file thrown out
immediately. I am in the process of receiving my section 8 voucher finally after waiting half a decade and
I wouldn’t want anything to stand in the way of that. I have at this time purchased another leash for my
dog and had an extensive talk with all my children about the importance of always having him on the
leash while outside on the property thus rectifying the complaint at hand. Thank you for taking the time
to read my letter of appeal and I hope t hear back from you soon.

Sincerely,

Passion Truss Dated: 1/9/2024
