Burgeoning filmmaker Axelle Carolyn showed a lyrical, controlled sense of cinema in her 2011 short film

debut The Last Post. Now, the sometime actress, model, and author has created another work of gentle,
frightening craft in the Halloween Kid.

The short film features a rhyming, Edward Gorey-esque poem (penned by Carolyn) as its script and
story: a tale of a poor, put-upon little boy named Henry who feels more akin to the supernatural
creatures of his imagination than the cruel, narrow minded adults and children who permeat his world.
But of course, Henry might not be as delusional as we think and, come Halloween, he found his only
moments of respite amongst other kids, who are in fact, dead!

That’s pretty much it as far as the Halloween Kind’s narrative goes, but like the Last Post, the film is not
about story, rather creating a tiny, perfectly realized universe that aims for more sensitivity than shock,
more melancholy than morbid. The music is lovely and whimsical, as in the almost Boris Karloff-like
narration by legendary Shakespearean dramatic Derek Jacobi.

The Halloween Kid shows even more promise from Carolyn, who with this beautifully sculpted piece of
work is one to watch, not just as a ‘horror-filmmaker’, but as a quality director of movies, full stop.

Almost everyone knows this phenomenal cartoons. This Japan film is very well known. Stand By Me:
Doraemon, this film was made to celebrate 80 years of Fujiko f. Fujio (alm), and this was firstly played in
cinemas in Japan on August 8th , 2014. in December 15th , Stand by Me Doraemon movie officially was
played in Indonesia. Surely the enthusiasm of Indonesian people to watch this phenomenal movie which
is the last episode of Doraemon movie is very great. However, is it true that the movie “Stand by Me
Doraemon is as good as many people told?” In a personal point of view, the film Stand by Me Doraemon
is a mediocre in the era of 3D animation film. Even as the generation of 90s, I disappointed with this
movie. It is may be because the big name of Doraemon has already been legend which then make this
film extremely loved by many people.
There are a few weaknesses that make the movie “Stand by Me Doraemon” seems to be failed. First, we
know that Doraemon is supposed not to go back to the future until Nobita finds a real happiness, but
after a few minutes the story moves to Doraemon and Nobita get into their phenomenal drawer to
explore the future and to help Shizuka in the Ice Moutain and to see Nobita’s wedding ceremony.
Second, too much expression, a joke which is totally not funny, even seems ridiculous. There are many
other 3D animated films which are far better in some points of view such as Wreck It Ralph and
Despicable Me.
