African literature has its roots in oral tradition, which is the transmission of stories,
advice, and history to future generations through spoken word, frequently incorporating mystical
and fairytale themes. It includes both the stuff that is uttered and the context in which it is
spoken. African literature consists of two types of literature, the “Traditional African LIterature”,
also known as the “oral tradition” and the “Modern African Literature” which is written in
indigenous African Language and European Language used in Africa. African literature is a
large and diverse collection of literary works that originate on the African continent and
frequently address a wide range of subjects and issues. Africa's literature is influenced by the
diverse cultural, historical, social, and political experiences of its varied societies. African
Literature mainly focuses on slave narratives, protests against colonization, calls for
independence, African pride, hope for the future, and dissent.
Now, Ancient Egyptian comprises a wide array of telling their literature by inscription on
the tombs. It consists of two main writing systems which are “Hieroglyphic”, a sacred writing and
“Hieratic” a script. Unlike literature from other regions, Egyptian literature frequently combines
moral and practical advice with aspects of religion and mythology. Egyptian literature also
places a special emphasis on the idea of “ma'at”, which stands for justice, balance, truth, and
order. A vast range of narrative and poetic forms can be found in Ancient Egyptian literature,
such as the inscriptions found on tombs, stele, obelisks, and temples; myths, stories, legends
and religious texts.
