INTRODUCTION:

The United States is a sovereign country constituted

as a constitutional federal republic composed of fifty states

and a federal district. Its capital is Washington D. C. and its

most populous city is New York. Most of the country is located

in the middle of North America where its 48 contiguous states

and Washington D. C. are located, between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. It borders Canada

to the north and Mexico to the south. It is the second largest economy and is a mixed capitalist

economy, characterized by abundant natural resources, a developed infrastructure and high

productivity.

DEVELOPMENT:

The United States is characterized by its

cuisine, which is a reflection of the "crisol de

culturas" that is the United States: a melting pot of

cultures that results in a multiethnic society. In the

culinary field, then, there is a great variety of

options, although it can be difficult to delimit the

really typical food. But the most consumed in the U.S. is fast food, which has become their

typical food. We are referring to hamburgers, hot dogs and other not exactly light delicacies that

traditionally go hand in hand with American culture.

Americans also love sports as football, basketball,

baseball and field hockey are the four biggest sports for
audiences in the U.S. Another U.S. tradition is that the American national anthem is played

before most professional sporting events, and many Americans stand, remove their hats and

look at the flag throughout the song.

It is important to mention that the United States has Walt Disney World parks in Orlando,

Florida, which are the number one tourist attraction in the United States. They receive more

than 45 million visitors annually, far more than the entire population of many countries. The

second most visited attraction in the United States is a shopping mall in Bloomington,

Minnesota. This gigantic mall offers the possibility of shopping in more than 520 stores and has

more than 12,000 parking spaces to accommodate its customers.

One of its biggest attractions for families is the Nickelodeon Universe, an indoor theme

park with roller coasters, among numerous other rides and attractions. It also has a miniature

golf section called Moose Mountain, with 18 holes.

July 4 is Independence Day in the United States, celebrating the adoption of the

Declaration of Independence in 1776. It is celebrated with a variety of festive events. Typical

festivities include:

 Parades: Many cities organize parades with floats, bands and community

participation to show patriotic spirit.

 Community events: Neighborhoods and communities organize activities such as

fairs, contests, games and outdoor barbecues for people to gather.

 Fireworks: Fireworks displays are an integral part of 4th of July celebrations.

Large, spectacular fireworks shows light up the night sky.

 Barbecues and picnics: Many families and friends gather to enjoy cookouts,

barbecues and picnics, often with traditional dishes such as hamburgers, hot

dogs and pies.

 Patriotic ceremonies: Some communities hold patriotic ceremonies to honor

veterans and highlight the nation's core values.

 Clothing: Americans wear red, white and blue or flag-print T-shirts.

In general, the Fourth of July is a day when Americans celebrate freedom, independence

and national identity by sharing special moments with friends and family.
CONCLUSIONS:

The 4th of July is a very important celebration for the Americans, since at that moment

they became free, declaring the United States as an independent nation.

Their celebration is interesting, their activities sound fun and it is something that every

country would celebrate for becoming independent. We liked it, since their way of celebrating

and the way they feel proud of their country is very unique in the world, also this is a symbol of

the fight for freedom, democracy and represents the hope that people can govern themselves.

Mexico also celebrates its independence and

some of the activities that the United States does, Mexico

also does, for example; fireworks, costumes, parades and

family reunions, some of them are celebrated with typical

Mexican food and music.
