LAKE DISTRICT - see page 6
England’s largest and arguably best-known national park is one of the
biggest draws for visitors to our region. Its stunning natural tapestry of
shimmering lakes, craggy hill tops with breathtaking views, and ancient
forests combine to make one of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. It is
also recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

MORECAMBE BAY- see page 8

Hugging the coast of southern Cumbria, Morecambe Bay is dotted with
classic seaside towns, stunning bay views, and even an Area of Natural
Beauty in Arnside & Silverdale. Watching the sun set over the bay with
fish & chips or a hot chocolate is the stuff memories are made of.

WESTERN LAKE DISTRICT & COAST - see page 10

Discover miles upon miles of awe-inspiring coastline, stretching from
Morecambe Bay right up to the Scottish border. Secluded beaches,
majestic castles, hidden lakes and towering mountains await in the western
Lake District and coast: an area packed with rugged natural beauty and a
fascinating history. Here, you’ll find the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty; and two UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

CARLISLE & HADRIAN’S WALL - see page 12

Inextricably linked with the iconic Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle’s fusion of old and
new brings together 2000 years of history with some laid-back city living
and urban café culture. Explore the edge of an ancient empire by walking in
the footsteps of the Roman army along the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage
Site. Birdoswald Fort and Banks Turret are just two must-sees.

EDEN VALLEY & NORTH PENNINES - see page 14

Whether you want calmness and serenity or adrenaline-packed adventure,
these epic landscapes offer the perfect place to reinvigorate. The North
Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers moorland heather,
woodlands, hay meadows, and tumbling rivers and waterfalls. With some
of the darkest skies in the country, it’s also the perfect place to stargaze.

WHERE THE LAKES MEETS THE DALES - see page 16

Did you know that a part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is
actually in Cumbria? This idyllic landscape is home to vast tracts of
farming land, drawn with ancient drystone walls and populated by
flocks of Herdwick sheep. Enjoy hiking and cycling amongst rolling
green hills; and stroll through pretty market towns and villages,
stopping to shop, eat and drink along the way.

Natural mineral water sourced from
the rolling hills of Cumbria

In Cumbria there’s more to water,

from clouds up high to hill and fell and mountain side
Flowing deep for years, nature purifies on its journey to finding you
Bottle it up, guzzle it down,
Bathe the hills and quench the town
For this is Aqua, nothing purer
With an eco-friendly cap, to reassure you
Crush it down, take it back
We’ll make plenty more with that
So take a sip of Cumbria, Go Out, Go Far, Go Live
